College actually tries best to bring companies for placement but some students are not eligible for placement shell criteria and some are not so skill full. In my department about 30-40% got placements. And average package is about 2.5-3.5 lpa. Like last to last year the highest from my department was 13.5 lakhs by Microsoft or some other company. I don't remember exactly. In short it's very competitive to got placements here, not a easy task.
I have given the screening test conducted by the college to take admission for PG. I had given two exams, one for ME EXTC in signal processing and the other for ME Electrical Control System. I am in the waiting list for embedded system but ranked 4th in Control System
For M.Tech all student from the first sem is eligible for campus placement. Mahindra, reliance, Triveni turbines, etc compony came for campus drives. They offer students up to 12-15 lakhs package annually. They offer project manager, engineer, chief engineer, and many more job profiles to the students. 100% of students are get placed in various companies. I plan a better placement after getting a degree.
Course: Power Electronics, important for renewable energy and electric mobility in near future. IIT Bombay Power Electronics is 3rd best in placement after IISc & IITK. I got admission through BTech GPA and technical interview. The primary mode of admission is through GATE.
There were many companies that participated in the campus drive. Some of them are - Google hardware, Mercedes Benz, general electric, ABB, Robert Bosch, Murata, micron semiconductors, Amara Raja Batteries, HCL, Intel, Nvidia, Hitachi, etc. They all follow a conventional system that is written test and screening the students based on their requirements which then followed by an interview. Around 85 % are placed. Yes, the institution takes special steps to prepare the students for the placement season such as mock tests, mock interviews, etc.
A complete educational and soulful experience of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam, a balance of learning and realization. The college needs to work on building its alumni network to be stronger in placement and also think about extending entrepreneurial aids for students.
I am pursuing a Double Degree (DD) Program Offered Jointly by DIAT and Cranfield University (UK). After completion of my degree I will receive two degrees, an M.Tech degree from DIAT and an M.Sc degree from CU. I filled a single form for both the courses. The admission process was pretty simple.
Course structure is divided into semester system. First two semesters are conducted at DIAT campus and final two at Cranfield University. The dual degree is a one of its kind course which covered the entirety of the scope of my engineering program. The final two sem at the CU are specialization based wherein my specialisation is Military Electronics Systems Engineering.
