Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

For me Economics department is the best department in Presidency University also I am interested in some many facts or and matters like share market stock market international business sector market and so all so I choose this course. Them for respected to very hard semester exam which takes part twice a year.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

There are some internships available within the university like internship, student internship summer undergraduate research program and life sciences research project. The top recruitments of Presidency University are- Exide, HCL, Accenture and so all

Fees and Financial Aid

In Presidency University BSc program like BSc economics we have to pay 5400 per year. There is a registration fee around 500 rupees. The sports fees are 230 and the laboratory fees are 1000 rupees but there is no any transaction charges. Tuition fees from July to December is 900. There is no in students aid fund. The Identity Card fee is 70 rupees.

Campus Life

4.5

The total infrastructure of not only the department but also of the whole Presidency University is mind blowing. We take part in every karikulam activity within the university. Actually in every room they are our Wi-Fi connections and students can use the Wi-Fi facility without any charge. There is a faced which is called generally ISPAT. There are also many other programs held within the university throughout the year.

Admission

At first I applied to Saint xaviers College Kolkata and I got admission there. After that I went to Scottish college also but when the update result was out I choose to be a Presidencian and complete my degree from Presidency University. The main reason is that Presidency University has a best placement cell which offers regular internships and proper placements in the other hand the other colleges are not as much popular for placements.

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ratio is 18:1 here. There are total 6-7 faculty teachers. Personally I like the HOD Gagari Chakraborty madam. She is very kind to us. The other faculty members like Zakir Hussain sir ,Mousumi Dutta ma'am they are also very much compact.

Other Applied Colleges

St. Xavier's College - [SXC] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Economics)

Faculty is not good as well as placements are very low and not even half of the batch can get placements

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
