Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

the curriculum followed in bits is inspired from MIT, Boston, as an MoU was signed while bits was being institated hence the books followed and the curriculum is mostly foreign authors and books and well updated For Mechanical engineering it doesnt prepare you well to work in the mechanical field and you'll have to do a masters for securing a well paid and higher role job but thats the case for all colleges as there is no attendance policy, if recorded lectures could be provided it would be helpful Frequency of quizzes is very hectic all subjects keep it in a row in a week, but midsems are also hectic like 8 exams in 6 days but compres are well spaced

Internships Opportunities

4.5

So there are three cycles of internships Practice School I provided after your 2-2 and companies from Jio to local companies arrive this is mostly to give a brief idea of the work culture to students and is compulsory then there is SIP which is in the third year and starts after completion of 3rd year before 4th year companies include, Google, Cisco, Sprinklr, BCG, Texas Instruments, honeywell, slb etc then there is another paid and compulsory internship ps2 similar to sip its in either of the two semesters in 4th year stipend varies from 30k/month to 3lpm

Placement Experience

4.5

So Students are exposed to Summer Internships from their 5th semester where they can also get Ppo's While the placement cycle is different from all colleges students can only sit in one semester of the two in the fourth year, and they get to chose which semester they want to their placement to be in, and the other semester they have to go for the Practice School, which is sort of like a summer internship and is compulsory Companies include Google, DeShaw, Sprinklr, Schlumberger, JSW, Viacom, BCG, Jpmc, Zs associated...and is a very long list mostly they take 5-10 students for each company Highest Package offered was 80Lpa by Sprinklr and average package is 21Lpa for all branches and 15lpa for mechanical engineering and 27lpa for Cse more than 85% students sitting in placement get placed I want to sit for non core placements and then consider MBA or business

Fees and Financial Aid

Year Wise: ?5,97,300 Admission Fees: 57,100 (one time) Tuition Fees: ?4,62,000/year (10% increase every year) Hostel: 27,000 Mess & Electricity: 10,000 Swd: 12,000 Fees Is same for everyone on campus there is no category wise fees Scholarships include 1. MCN which has a family income criteria and fees waiver of (25,40,80,100%) based on CGPA & 2. Merit top 1% students get merit scholarship

Campus Life

5

Bits goa's fest are huge and are in the top 5 college fest in India Waves is the third best cultural college fest (Early November) Quark the tech fest (early March) Spree the sports fest (mid April) The Library is huge and well maintained and you can find almost all books you need Classrooms and infrastructure is great and have all the labs machines tech required for studying and even more Bits goa has an excellent sports and extra curricular culture with dedicated areas given to sports and dance and music they surely embrace extra curricular and sports Club culture in bits goa is also excellent and is one of the best part of campus you can find a club for every interest that you have, and all fests in bits goa is student run so you can also be part of the OC

Hostel Facilities

5

Rooms are well maintained painted and clean, facilities include electricity fan table bed Meal quality is great but not the best the menu is well in balanced diet and treats you time and again but it gets monotonous so students get bored There's is no different registration process hostel is compulsory and you get it along you admission you cannot rent a room you have to stay on campus

Admission

So I sat in Jee Mains & Advance didnt qualify for IIT's but i got BITS Mesra and Lnmiit jaipur, CSE confirmed, but i chose bits goa after visiting the campus i loved the infrastructure the teachers the campus life and of course the reputed bits pilani tag. No there weren't any college that i applied to and got a rejection, but i couldnt qualify for iits For admission you have to sit in BITSAT, bits pilani's exclusive exam, and their is a brachwise cutoff that follows, admission is only possible through bitsat for indian students, for nri there's another way through sat and 12th marks but the fees is double Admission experience is smooth and well maintained and streamlined

Faculty

4

The Faculty is really well experienced and well chosen every faculty is either an IITian Bitsian or from Foreign Institutions and most professors have an PHD so they are all well read, faculty on bits are really approachable you just have to mail them once and book appointment and you can discuss anything Abhijit Pethe, Pravin Singru, DM kulkarni, Mohit Kumar, Tarkeshwar Singh, Kanan Sir There are The compre(final) midsems and many quizzes, professors are flexible to change number of quizzes or even not take any at all just assignments or project or lab

Other Applied Colleges

The LNM Institute of Information Technology - [LNMIIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Bits seemed a better option in the same fees and same marks, the infra, the tag and everything else felt justifible for a lower branch

The curriculum is the same across all the 5 colleges It's too outdated to be studied Not relevant for modern-day job markets Students often have to study different materials to crack a job. Youtibe is best solution to clear the concepts

Placements are good like averages of chemical is 12 lpa and there is good placement percentage ratio like 75 percent and if in case of no placements further study is possible option as bits have connection to many best institues in the world.

Placement Experience:

I have no clue but the highest placements are in Computer and IT branches. Civil has probably the least placement. The quality is good thanks to IIT and NIT being in the same campus thus the big companies that come to those colleges also come to our colleges but they prefer those students more because NIT and IIT are more prestigious colleges.

Campus placement is okay okay but not that great . Mech and civil don't have that much package avg of around 6 lakh and i guess only 10-11 got placed .. and 16-17 was eligibile for it. For eligible to placement you don't have any backlog in any subject and some minimum cgpa required too
