Likes
- Campus of the college is good and infrastructure also.
- Campus Life is up to the mark. Mostly students who take admission here are localities.
- Football ground is quite good. It has one vollyball playing area also. And a separate basketball court.
Dislikes
- Faculty is not that good. Teachers have experience but teaching methodology is not good. At the time of exam you have to study yourself, but having said that I would also say that some faculties are good and helping.
- Attendance is necessary in this college. So you have to come college everyday.
- Library Books and Common room needs improvement.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is very old age type. For example In our 4th semester we have one subject called MICROPROCESSOR AND MICROCONTROLLER in this subject they awere teaching us 8085 microprocessor which is a very old technology. In labs we have equipments for practical knowledge. Level of exams which we have were difficult and uncertain. For example if you read previous year papers you will definitely take note of any important chapter or topic and you will definitely prepare that topic properly, but when exam paper will come you will see that they have done the opposite.
Internships Opportunities
You can apply for internship if you want college and department provide support of you want to apply for internship. Recently one of my friend applied for internship in ISRO and he got all the documents signed from the college which were necessary.
Placement Experience
Since I am currently in 5th semester so I will not be able to say much about placement, but students are eligible for placement after 6th semester. Avg placement is around 4 LPA and mostly tech companies come for placements. Core companies are very less . For example Tech Mahindra, TCS , TCS Ninja etc
Fees and Financial Aid
Total fees when I took admission was Rs 4,40,000 . The breakup of fees was like: At the time of admission I paid total 90,000 , my first semester fees was included in this amount. On rest of 3,40,000(approx) I took Education Loan approved by West Bengal Government. My semester fees ranges from (44000 - 50000) till 8th semester. There are several scholarships available for west bengal students(SVMCM Scholarship) and also for Bihar and Jharkhand students. Fees has increased for 2023 session students. It has increased upto 5,00,000(approx).
Campus Life
Fests doesn't occur every year. The level of fests are not that good, but Tech competition and Hackathon do happen regularly. I have participated in once of them in my First year and secured 3rd position. Hardware competition are really good and competitive in this college. Sports competition also happen mainly Inter Department tournaments. Sports facilities are not that good.
Admission
This college takes admission from WBJEE and JEE Mains both, but mostly WBJEE. I gave this exam but my rank was around 56000 so this college was also around my home and that is the main reason I took admission here. Admission process is very simple, you will get all the info when you will come to take the admission.
Faculty
Previously our college was under MAKAUT Board but this year it has become an autonomous board. So my syllabus falls under MAKAUT Board syllabus but the fresher students are studying from another syllabus. I am from ECE Department so in my department there few good faculties but some are really bad in teaching methodology. Same goes for other departments also. We have four internal assessment exams and one end semester exam.
