Course Curriculum Overview

4

The college follows the exam scheme of top colleges like IIT's and NIT's, and yet the teaching is simple and easy to understand. The examinations prepare you directly for on-field jobs and interviews. The questions are more concept understanding oriented and less of memorizing stuff.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are a lot of internship opportunities provided for the students throughout their course, from the first to the final year. These internship opportunities clearly mention their eligibility criteria, the package they offer and what they are looking for, making it easier for the students to choose.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements are great with a consistent average salary package of around 6 to 8 LPA every year, even during the recession period. The college also has a 95+ percentage placement rate, across every branch in B.Tech and B.E. The highest package easily goes up to around 60+ LPA, with top companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Dell, Cognizant, EY, Accenture, Flipkart etc. visiting the campus every year for placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are four fee slabs under scholarship category, if we enter through AEEE, which is the entrance exam conducted by Amrita university exclusively, for its own students. Based on the rank obtained in AEEE exam, and the course you prefer, you'll be eligible for any of the 4 fee slabs, where the first fee slab is around 1.6-2 lakhs per year(varies slightly based on the course you choose), second slab is around 2-2.25 lakhs per year, third slab is around 2.6-3 lakhs per year, and fourth slab is around 3-3.5 lakhs per year. There is also a non-scholarship regular category, under which the fees is around 4-5 lakhs per year. In the scholarship category, you can enter with AEEE rank or with JEE percentile.

Campus Life

4

There are a whole load of events conducted every year, starting from freshers party to welcome the new-joinees, and events for Onam, Dussehra and many other festivals. There are also college events like Dastaan organised on a large scale, with concerts and mid-night DJ events. Also, there is a club for everything that you could think of, and anyone can easily join any club, whenever they want. There are a whole lot of leadership oppurtunities.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are 4-sharing rooms, in the hostels , for boys as well as for girls. There is a common mess for food, where the food is average and only vegetarian. The hostel block consists of 3 blocks for the boys hostel, with floor wardens in each floor, a deputy warden, and a chief warden, along with a student affairs department, in case of any issues.

Admission

This college has an edge over other colleges, because it has been rated highly, with NAAC accredited A++ and NIRF 7th in the country. Also, the college has a comparitively lower fee slab (both tution and hostel fees), if you come under scholarship. The placements are also higher than other similar tier colleges. The college has a smooth and transparent admission process, with a dedicated online portal for admissions, which allows you to choose your preferred courses and fee slabs, based on the rank obtained.

Faculty

4

The faculty and staff are highly qualified and the teaching style is very commendable. The students are free to reach out to the teachers at any time, for genuine doubts. You can also do paper presentations and projects under whichever faculty you like, which will actually be helpful in the future. The exams follow the IIT, NIT marking scheme and question paper setting scheme, making it a little more difficult than other colleges around. Internals add up to around 60 marks, consisting of 2 quizzes, 1 assignment and a mid-semester exam. The remaining 40 marks is contributed by the end-semester exam, which is for 100 marks, and reduced to 40.

Other Applied Colleges

Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT University] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Comparatively lower placements

BITS Pilani (Pilani Campus) | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Computer Science)

High Hostel Fees

Shiv Nadar University | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Data Science and Artificial Intelligence)

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
