Course Curriculum Overview

4

For first years, to ensure smooth transition from school to university, the course is carefully crafted to include senior secondary portions. The course plan also promises a foreign language and kannada, to survive in the different realms and the globalising world. Mooting is also thoroughly encouraged, helping you to step into the practical world. Practical experience is also given by industrial professionals through seminars. Exams take place twice a semester in a span of 5 months

Internships Opportunities

5

Internships are offered to everyone under NGOs and advocates. Students who are exceptional, get internship with stipend. A student will get internship wherever he/she wants to work in. Students are also taken to court visits by the employer. It equips the students with hands on experience.

Placement Experience

5

This course in this college is only 3 years old, and there hasn't been a passing out batch yet. So placements exactly still hasn't taken place. But there is a 100% placement when it comes to internship. I can bet.

Fees and Financial Aid

First of all, there is no different categories of fee payment. Few is the same for everyone. The total tuition fee is 3lakhs, +10k which is refundable. In the 3 lakhs, 2.25 is the actual course fee and the rest 75k is termed as other fees (hall tickets, exam conduction, usage of facilities, etc etc). The application fee was ?600. Apart from this, if you opt for hostel, you'd have to pay 2.25lakhs. There's also a very good scholarship scheme, which is the merit scholarship scheme (for my course). It's based on your 12th or CLAT score. More details on the same can be found on the college website. Precisely, if you score 80% and above, you'd easily get a 10% scholarship.

Campus Life

5

Campus is very vibrant, helps you socialize. There are people for everyone. There is a club for everyone, to name a few, cultural, sports, moot court society, legal aid soc, etc etc. The infra is fantastic. You can take part in various departments' fests, but for our department, there is exclusively ERAYA, which takes place once a year. Apart from which there are a lot lot of fests. There's a projector and a digital screen, and the classrooms are all with centralised ac. You'd get most of the required books in the library. You will also get selected to sport clubs and it would include every other sport. There's a specific building for sports called Marena. There's also a mental health space for students to express themselves.

Hostel Facilities

5

There's a cot, a mattress, buckets, attached washroom, study table, drawers, cupboards and a bedside table as well. The mess food is tolerable. I've been to other colleges, and I've seen worse. They also take in suggestions. There's variety in food for North and South Indians. Registration for hostel begins much lately after the admission order. It costs 2.25 lakhs including food (72k for food) and 7k for laundry. Laundry services is also good. The price does justice for the services provided and the quality.

Admission

I applied to Christ and got accepted as well. My main criteria was landing an internship. Christ is a very good and reputed university, but you may have to find your own internships, which is not the case when it comes to manipal. Internships are guaranteed here. They will also be flexible and give you the internship where you prefer to do it. To be eligible, you should have cleared boards with a minimum of 40%, written any law specific entrance test such as CLAT or LSAT. They'll consider your score and call for interview.

Faculty

4

Faculties are very very approachable. They're sweet and nice, and at times become your friends as well. I cannot name faculties, but any professor here resembles so much talent and ability to guide a student. There are so many professors from NLSIU. The faculties are graduated from globally recognised universities. Per semester, there is Midsems and Endsems. The question paper is crafted on a medium level. Most of them clear the paper, and their credit system is also relatively good. First semester's course structure is pretty dry, but it gets pretty interesting as it goes forward. (There's also a foreign language course and kannada course)

Other Applied Colleges

Christ University | Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Law [BALLB] {Hons.}

Manipal offers better internship opportunities. It makes sure it's students get an internship unlike any other university, which asks you to find your own internship.

Placement Experience:

The placements of Christ University Bangalore, are pretty decent. Students are eligible to get placements for the 9th semester, and there are a lot of companies that come for campus placements like Shardul Amrchnad Mangaldas and Cyril Amrchand Mangaldas, Khaitan, Puviyah and co., Trilegal and etc. The highest placement that went last year was 23 lakh, and the average placement is 6-7 lakhs. My plan is to do litigation after getting a degree.

Placements are okay not so good because of the field as Law doesn't have much placements because it is only given in corporate sector and other things people only have to get employment like for Self employment.

Placement Experience:

The university has a placement cell which is helpful. They help us get internships in which place we want (only if we are eligible). The placements are nice which are reported by the seniors. We got to know that most of the seniors had a starting package of 7L per annum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

A professional course with the best college fees is the main perks of this college. It is even a Joseph's College, which is one of the best colleges in Bangalore. We have certificate courses, outreach programmes, committee events, etc. The teaching method is interesting, teachers don't rely on textbooks but on activities, cases, programmes, etc. The cousre is not difficult or not easy, so it's moderate. If you study, you can easily ace it. We have to go for internships too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course for three reasons: read, write and speak. The first two I love and the last I wanted to improve. Law as a career gives you opportunity to learn these skills. The faculty student ratio is 1:60. Our batch of 180 is divided among three sections. It has trimester system, which means you'll have exam every three months.
