Course Curriculum Overview

4

I'm from mechanical engineering and I am confident enough to say that the course curriculum is updated often, for our batch they have added control systems which is an ECE subject but mechanical core companies are expecting knowledge in this field, similarly our junior batch cloud computing has been added as a compulsory elective, the frequently contact industrial representatives and get to know the industry requirements and update the curriculum accordingly, the frequency of exams are perfect each exam will have one and a half month gap in between. The second continous exam will be difficult because it is openbook/notebook we are allowed to bring our notebooks, books to the examination.

Placement Experience

5

I'm in my 7th semester now I cannot completely comment since the placement season has now only started and I can strongly saw all the IT/CSE braches have a lot of companies coming and offering good packages, but core branches are facing little difficulty because very few companies are visiting, maybe in upcoming months many can come. But the carrier developement cell is puting out all efforts to help students in terms of placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

So basically there are 5 categories in toltal and no they are not seperated by caste but with the rank from the VITEEE entrance exam conducted every year by VIT Category - 1 The tution fees per year is Rs.195000 Category - 2 The tution fees per year is Rs.307000 Category - 3 The tutuion fees per year is Rs.405000 Category - 4 The tutuion fees per year is Rs.448000 Category - 5 The tutuion fees per year is Rs.493000 For the first year alone there will an additional caution deposit refundable of amount of Rs.3000 As far as scholarships, city topper students from goverment schools will get free admission and their branch choice, so basically the 12th topper from each district in Tamilnadu a female and a male student can get free education this program is called STARS. After first year each branch topper will recieve Rs.12000 from the university as a appreciation for their result. As far as ranks concerned the CSE core will have the highest demand amoung the other branches, all the 5 categories will get fulled below rank of 4000, next CSE specializations will have the next demand, then comes IT ,then ECE branches, then Biotech, then mechanical and civil,so if you want to get a CSE seat in vellore campus you will have to perform really well in the VITEEE examination.

Admission

I got good rank in Amirtha college in coimbatore but the rules there were slightly strict and exposure is less when compared to VIT, so I chose VIT over it. Admission procedure in VIT First we give the VITEEE entrance conducted by VIT Then the rank is published based on our performance Based on rank if we are interested in admission we will have to 6000 to sit for the counselling Then based on rank the seperate batches When our batch date comes we will have to give our preferences based on the branch and fee category we are willing to pay, if there is a seat in our requested branch fee category our admission will be processed.

Faculty

All the faculty members are well experienced and the publish research papers in various journals every year, the also collaborate with various industry and take up problem statement and try to solve them, students interested can work with them. All the faculties have their cabin and open hours students can approach them when ever required, sadly I cannot share names of the faculties here. The grading is relative grading system so our grade depends completely on our classmates Total 7 grades S,A,B,C,D,E,F S is the top grade and F is considered fail THEORY EXAM THE GRADED TOTAL IS 100 Continous assesment -1 is conducted for 50 marks, it contributes 15 marks to the graded total. Continous assesment -2 is also conducted for 50 marks contributes 15 marks to the graded total. Internals - 30 marks(quizs/digital assesment)-contributes 30 marks to the graded total. The Final Assesment is conducted for 100 marks and contributes 40 marks to the graded total. before grading a minimum of 40/100 in final assesment to be considered pass in a particular subject. LAB EXAMS graded total=100 We will have 10 experiments for 10 mark each which will contribute 60 marks to the graded total Then we have Lab Final Assesment for 50 marks which will contribute 40 to the graded total.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.
