What Students Say

Likes

The management as they have created such an environment that student can feel relaxed and secure inside the university premises.
Security is there round the clock and nobody can trespass the gate after the college hours.
Modern example of how a university should operate as don't have just the experienced faculties but new age faculties too.

Dislikes

It's probably the influence that outsiders have created by not coming to the classes regularly.

Course Curriculum Overview

Being called a techie has more novelty than being called a management student or a law student. Hence, I chose engineering and our course is such that it dives deep and teaches us methods and ways through which larger problems can be solved.

Class Size: 62Course Fees: INR 460000 per year

Placement Experience

I am into my third year and we have been told that next semester we should drop out CVs to the T&P department. So, i suspect when we enter the final year, we will be made eligible for placements. I have not left my state thus far but at GEU students have grabbed international placements and hence, I am also hoping for one as placements here are too good.

Fees and Financial Aid

Students of Uttarakhand gets 10% flat scholarship and therefore my fees became 4.6 lakhs instead of 5 lakhs. Likewise SC/ST and other students get flat 25% scholarships. So, it's easy to bring down the high fees that University has otherwise.

Campus Life

Tech-Nova which was a tech fest was organised at our very own spacious computer labs. I got enough to see that students or all the top colleges of Uttarakhand participated and nearly 100 teams were there. Likewise, we have a cultural fest too and its called GRAFEST.

Admission

I am from Uttarakhand and GEU has attacked students from foreign countries so why I would chosen a different university to study. Admissions are based on 12th score or if you have entered through entrance scores. Both the ways are possible and one has to eligible either ways.

Faculty

We have 60 odd students and 5 faculties every semester. Means 12 studnets per faculties. I never thought I will name but since it is asked I will take name of student favourite faculty and that is none other than Deepak Sir who is always and up and running and also makes students dance to his tune.

A Well-Rounded B.Tech Journey with Good Infrastructure, Supportive Faculty, and Growing Career Opportunities

Likes

Faculty members are generally qualified and approachable, and students can seek help with academics and projects.
students should supplement the university curriculum with industry certifications, coding practice, internships, GitHub projects and real-world development work.
There are cultural events, technical activities, clubs, sports and other extracurricular activities. Hostel students can participate fairly actively in campus events.

Dislikes

The main improvement I'd look for would be more advanced, industry-standard laboratory equipment and greater practical exposure.
I couldn't find a reliable current official university figure for the overall girls-to-boys ratio.
The ratio can also differ substantially between CSE, other engineering branches and the university as a whole.

Placement Experience:

Haridwar University provides regular campus-placement opportunities across IT, core engineering and other sectors. The university reports strong overall placement activity, but programme-wise salary and placement data are limited publicly, so students should ask for CSE-specific statistics before admission.

I like the college curriculum and study materials and teaching style of the teachers . Some teachers are impressive and their teaching style is too good .
Campus life is not much engaging but we usually spent our time in studying only . Also for attendance there is not much more criteria but some teachers are very strict in taking the attendance.
Faculties are full of experience and knowledge. They are approachable online and offline too but after the class.

Dislikes

I don't like the placement system in my college because the students studying in 2nd year do not get any exposure of placement . There is placement cell in our college but not very active .
Infrastructure is good but it should be spread in a more big acres . My wish was to get into IIT Kharagpur that's why I am asking for big campus .
Overall curriculum and research based approach of the campus is good. They just give projects to the seniors and seniors work is to dictate us about the project and helps us in building different types of project.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main aspects that motivates me to choose this college is the GFTI'S colleges . Because my father suggest me that govt. Colleges seeks more companies that's why I choose this college . But truth is totally opposite from the reality. Real world application based projects is just given by the teachers in every semester but we students copy it and give it to them from the gpt. College timing should be more less we have to study from 10 am to 5 p.m. Timings of exams are of 3 hrs only in semester . Difficulty level is moderate.

Graduation- Best time of life.

Likes

The campus of the university is beyond beautiful and homely. Participation in college and university societies paves way for an all rounder development of the students. Facilities like CCF internet facility) is quite commendable.
Good Placements offered also encourage better future prospects. The library of the university is next level. Kisan mela held two times a year feels like another celebration for the university people.
Events held in the university with amazing artists offer exposure as well as a unique way to keep the entertainment alive amongst the youth.e

Dislikes

The hostel rules were rigid especially the entry timings of the girls hostel. The rigidity to take leave by getting it signed by various officials first had been an issue. Although, this was when i was graduating, things might have changed by now.
The stringent hostel rules were quite difficult to cope with. The strict checking at the university gates though might seem good as per the security but seem harsh sometimes.
Teaching methods could be made more progressive and technical with time paving way for more practical knowledge. Infrastructure could also be given a push.

Placement Experience:

In final year of btech companies start coming. Maximum students of CSE and IT get placed. Package is min. 3.2Lacs CTC. Both mass recruiters and startups take part in the placement drive. A good number of students get placed. But maximum students of our college opt for higher studies like appearing for GATE, GRE, CAT exams. Further students indulge in preparation for govt services like UPSC, Defence.
