Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum and content is very much updated according to the requirements of industry. It makes an individual industry ready, appropriate for all interviews and apritude tests by giving enough practise. Theres no such change needed to be made in teaching methods. We have 3 main exams in one semester one after every 1.5 months. The one open book exam is bit on the tough side. Rest others are easy to moderate level. It organizes numerous hackathons and other competition which motivates students and make them competitive . It makes them ready for the industry

Internships Opportunities

4

The brand name of VIT itself helps students to hain decent internships through linkedIn. There's no restriction from the college's side on the number of internships you do. Placement cell helps 3rd year students to get internships about which they keep informing the procedure through mail.

Placement Experience

4

Campus placements os mainly for 4th year students. Numerous companies including microsoft, google, jp morgan, amazon , motorq, paypal , tcs, intel, dyte etc visit the campus. Overall 867 companies visited in 2024. 7526 of the students have been placed this year out of which 3362 received super dream offers while 3411 received dream offers. The highest package for this year has been 88lpa. After the degree , am looking forward to build my own startup after working in a company for sometime.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees varies for students as it depends on the category in which one received admission in. The category depends on the marks of students in VITEEE : (the entrance exam one need to crack to get admission) The category-wise fees for the 2024–2025 academic year at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) are as follows: Category 1 For undergraduate courses, the fee is INR 96,000 for the first to third year. Category 2 For undergraduate courses, the fee is INR 1,59,000 for the first to third year. Category 3 For undergraduate courses, the fee is INR 1,92,000 for the first to third year. Here are some other fees for VIT Vellore: One-time fee: For B.E./B.Tech courses, the one-time fee is INR 2,000–3,000. For M.E./M.Tech courses, the one-time fee is INR 3,000. For MBA/PGDM courses, the one-time fee is INR 3,000. For B.Sc. courses, the one-time fee is INR 2,000–3,000. Caution deposit: For M.Tech courses, the caution deposit is INR 3,000. Hostel and mess fees: For first-year students, the hostel and mess fees vary depending on the type of room and whether it has air conditioning. Besides these, VIT also provides various scholarships to students which can better be referred on its official page for detailed knowledge. There's direct admission for board toppers.

Campus Life

4

The campus mainly celebrates Onam. Other festivals like ganesh chattuthi is also celebrated. Library has numerous books on every topic you may ask for. Same topic with numerous aurhors are made available. In the classrooms we have a projector. The teaches display their pdfs on the white board and discuss the topics. The sports opportunities offered are very vivid. One who is good at sports can attain heights here. The clubs and chapters on the other hand the clubs and chapters are very active and the seniors help juniors in excellence.

Hostel Facilities

5

There are luxurious Ac rooms, rooms with bunk beds and non Ac rooms. 2,3,4,6 sharing are available. In rooms they provide table and chair for every student, theres a lamp fixed above every table. Above that is a shelf . Also we get an almirah for every individual. One mirror in every room. The meal quality is decent, edible, not too good though.

Admission

Other than this college, I applied for btech in cse in Lnmit Jaipur and Nirma University. Didnt opt for Nirma university as it had no hostel inside the campus and i was not confident enough to live in pg in a completely new city as it was my first time moving out of home for hostel. Also my seniors told college life, exposure and curriculum is better in Vit , so came here. I would have opted LNMIT Jaipur over it but its nerit list came very late . By that time i was already enrolled in VIT , so could not go. Besides, i gave UGEEE , entrance exam fkr IIIT HYDERABAD but could not make it out there. I failed to qualify the exam as i did not prepare well. For admission in VIT , theres an entrance exam namely VITEEE, I very well qualified it.

Faculty

4

The course is very relevant and updated as per the needs of the industry. There are multiple exams in one sem. Majorly two internals (Cat1, CAT2) and one external(FAT) Cat2 is an open book exam and so questions are not very straight forward. Understanding what the question is actually asking is the key to score well. Cat1 is easy. Before or after written papers they organize an mcq based quiz for every subject. The level is moderate. Most of the faculties are approachable easily. One can even call and go to their cabins regarding doubts.

Night Life

3

There are multiple gyms in the campus. The gym is decent and have all the basic machines. The library is working till 12:30 on weekdays and till 6 on weekends. Campus in timing for girls is 7pm while for boys its 9pm. Hostel in timing for girls is 8:30 while for biys its 9:30. There are not many places for hanging out, but ya there are cafes and restaurants, also a hill which is fun to climb. Dont know about safety as we never went out at night. Besides all, the club members , when working on a projectnor preparing for some event can stay in the campus ground at night till 1am.
