Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum has been updated in the last 4 years so it's more relevant in today's times. While the theory courses are normal for the most part, Lab courses are really good and you will actually get practical knowledge in them.

Internships Opportunities

3

The tech giants do offer internships here although the numbers are limited. They do have a compulsory industry internship. Overall internship opportunities are there but they are limited to the top students only.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are quite decent here although you'll have to maintain a CGPA over 8.5 for better opportunities. There are many tech companies and in core sector too, the opportunities are there although they are lesser in numbers. Core branch students can apply for IT companies too.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship is available for Top 1000 rankers in VITEEE. Board Toppers get 100% waiver. Top 50 rankers in VITEEE get 75%, top 100 get 50% and the top 1000 get 25% in tuition fees only. Other than that, there are multiple categories in which one can get admission in VIT. Category 2 fees is 3 lakh per year, Category 3 is 4 lakh, Category 4 is 4.5 lakh while Category 5 is 5 lakh per year.

Campus Life

5

The cultural fest here is Rivera which is in February and tech fest is Gravitas which is in September. The library is big and has and has around 2.5 lakh books. The classrooms are normal for the most part but labs are well equipped and the computers are also new in the computer labs. Sports facilities are there like there's the indoor and outdoor stadium and quite a few basketball and volleyball courts. Many hostel blocks also have badminton courts too. There are a lot of clubs and chapters here.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are pretty decent. You have AC hostels and even the older blocks are maintained well. Laundry and electricity bill in included in the hostel fees. Although the fees is pretty high to begin with. Mess are of 3 types veg, non veg and special. Food quality varies in every mess with some being really good While some are very average.

Admission

My options were restricted to private colleges only as my JEE rank wasn't good enough to get a good NIT or IIIT and even in my local state college, I was getting lower branches only. And I didn't really want to knoI had gotten a good rank in Comedk exam too which could have gotten me Electronics in RVCE too but eventually picked VIT because of the lower tuition and hostel fees I'll have to pay here. I mostly had interest in Electronics only.

Faculty

4

Student to faculty ratio is around 10:1 based on the nirf 2024 data. The exam structure includes two midsem exams which are Cat1 and cat2. Each have 15% weightage in total grade and cat2 is open book so slightly more difficult as well. 30% is internal assessment like Quizzes and assignments while Fat are the final exams. Till now in the first semester, the exams are on the easier side for the most part.

Interview Experience

4

No, the admission was purely based on the VITEEE Ranks. The level of the exam is similar to JEE Mains although you need to maintain speed because there are 125 questions to do in 2.5 hours. Also there is no negative marking.

Night Life

1

Nightlife isn't much here due to the hostel intime and overall Vellore is also a town which sleeps early. The best you can get for nightlife here is by joining clubs where you are allowed to work till late at night.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.
