Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is designed to keep you busy and occupied throughout the semester. We have several exams including two CAT exams as well as one FAT exams, several assignments and quizzes, project reviews and lab exams every semester.

Internships Opportunities

2

Internship opportunities are less compared to the number of students and is very difficult to get on campus internship opportunities as the competition becomes very stiff. People mostly try for off campus internships.

Placement Experience

5

From the 7th semester onwards, one becomes eligible for the placements given that there is no active backlog and the overall cgpa is more than 7. Several reputed companies including Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Nvidia, DeShaw, etc visit campus every year and recruits a good number of people. The highest package goes at around 1 Cr whereas the average CTC goes around 10 lpa. At the end of the placement cycle, almost everyone gets placed. I too got placed similarly and are planning to continue working.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly annual fees for me was Rs. 4,02,000 plus an additional about Rs. 1,50,000 that included Rs. 96,000 hostel fee and the rest as mess fee. Fees is variable and depends on the category you get admission in.

Campus Life

5

The one thing VIT excels at is it's infrastructure. VIT has a very big, green and vibrant campus with ample amount of places to walk. It has facilities for almost every sport including basketballs and badminton courts. There are several clubs and chapters, providing an opportunity to grow in any domain.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostels are crowded and expensive. Most hostel blocks are very old which reflects in the building. The hostels are however equipped with all the required facilities including lifts, hot water, water coolers, night canteens, etc.

Admission

I would definately had preferred NITs or IITs if I would have gotten CSE in there. However, VIT is at par if not better than most IITs and NITs when it comes to placement. The Placement body as VIT is very good and the placement record and the tie up with other company are very great, providing ample amount of opportunities for the students.

Faculty

5

The faculty to students ratio is about 20. All the faculties are PhD holders which is a requirement set by the institute. Barring few, most faculties are highly approachable and friendly and are highly qualified.

Night Life

1

The nightlife is straightaway bad and non existent. The main gate closes at around 7 and the hostel gates close at 8:30 for girls and 9 for boys. Leaving the hostel block after this is not possible unless some urgent work is there.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
