Course Curriculum Overview

Semester based exams. They'll conduct the examinations twice a year. There'll be internals as well as externals. Internals will be of 25 marks and externals of 75. Out of 25, 5 marks are of attendance and 10-10 each for assignment and test.

Placement Experience

No the college does not provides internships. The placement opportunities are low. Only 2-3 good companies come in the college hiring very few kids. But the college is trying very hard to fetch more good companies.

College Events

There are a lot of fests in the college in the even semesters. The big SYMPHONY is the College Fest. Then various Departmental Fests follow. The College's Miss JDMC contest is also a huge event for the Cultural Society of the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible. All DU college's fees are feasible, as all the colleges are Government-aided. A student from Delhi itself will have literally negligible fee pressure. But a student from outstation could have high rental rates.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't availed any scholarships or loans from the college. I don't know about the scholarship procedures. I'm not aware of this system. If anybody wants to know this information, you can contact the college.

Campus Life

They are satisfactory. The computers mostly doesn't work in the college. The sport equipments are not upto the mark. The refreshment facility for the Sport's kids is quite nice. They'll take care of your health and academics.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. The college conducts the ANNUAL ALLUMNI MEET every year. The students register for the allumni in their last year. On thar day,there are several cultural programmes and stuff. The students can come with their better halves too.

Admission

I got admission in the last cutoff. You have to wait till making your 12th percentage equal to the merit criterias. Just collect all your certificates and marksheets and them in the college. The college teachers are very helpful.

The commerce faculty of janki devi memorial college, Delhi University is the best one could ever get. The teachers are always helpful. They are equally interested in the departmental as well as college fests.

My college was a girl's college. There are maximum 60students in a class. Prints were quite cheap in the college cafe.
There were many fest functions in my college. I also participated in the dance fest in my first year. We also used to go on picnics from college.
India's chief guest at the annual function was M Venkaiah Naidu.

Dislikes

College fees were very high for general category people.
The behavior of many teachers was quite rude and arrogant as if they were teaching us for free.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

Infrastructure of the college is very up-to-date.
College crowd is very active and diverse, giving opportunity to learn and explore.
Teachers are very well educated and friendly towards the students.

Dislikes

Sports facilities at the college need to be improved.
Few teachers methods of teaching are traditional and outdated.
There is strict criteria for attendance, to maintain 66.7 percent

Placement Experience:

Final your students are eligible for the campus placement. Companies visited are HDFC Bank, Zomato, Swiggy, mahindra,EY, Deloitte and others. Highest package was around 30 lacs per annum and the average package is around 4 lakhs. Job profiles were mostly business analyst, research and development, PR and others. I will prepare for civil services examinations after clearing my graduation.

Our placement services is efficient and effective which always comes up with quality companies in terms of employment and package.
We have solid infrastructure which includes medical rooms, basketball ground, main ground, fest ground etc.
Our faculties expert in their teaching of respective subject where the teaching method is technology based and mentorship quality is demand based

Dislikes

Our course curriculum is relevant but sometimes it lacks little practical learning.

Placement Experience:

Student set in the placement from 5th semester where where is companies visited college for the campus placement such as KPMG, Zomato Deloitte, etc and number of offers made were not explicitly disclosed by the college and highest package was 25 lakhs and average package was 4 lakhs and profile offered were finance, marketing, etc around 70% students placed from my college and my plans after the graduation is to pursue PHD.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Regarding the girls:boys ratio, it has now become good. Earlier it used to be less but now has increased. In my batch, there are 84 boys and 48 girls
The infrastructure quality and the hostel amenities are very nice. You get all the basic facilities for almost free. The campus is huge and its very good.
We get a 24/7 working library, so no worries for night owls, it is closed only on national holidays, not even on sundays.

Dislikes

Regarding academics, sometimes lectures of some professors become to boring. Here also like all MBBS colleges, we rely more on online coaching rather than college lectures.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fine. Here they prefer to rely on standard textbooks for better knowledge. And the postings here gives you very good practice and practical knowledge. Here we get to see a lot of complex and rarer cases in the ward.

Likes

College provides a free environment for sports.
It is ragging free college and many anti ragging laws are here
One of the best features of our college is it in origanising seminar time to time.

Dislikes

There is a issue in time table uncertain classes are a problem for us
So high attendance criteria makes us in trouble.
There are not hostal facility which make a critical situation.

I chose the course because I want to become ias.approximately 100students in class . . Many proofesser are highly educated like PhD ma etc our faculty offers many opportunities.There are 6 semester in 3 years and 2 in each year .it is normal to crack the exam but hard to get High marks

Ramjas the heaven on earth

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.

A students perspective on jdmc

I choose Janki Devi Memorial College mainly because it is a Delhi University College and has a good academic environment. I had applied to a few other DU colleges as well but the cutoffs is some of first slightly higher so, I could not get my preferred course there. When I got admission in Janki Devi Memorial College, I found that the faculty, infrastructure and overall environment is good, so I decided to continue here instead of waiting for further rounds. In comparison to other college I considerd JDMC has a disciplined environment, supported teachers and regular academic activities. The crowd is decent and the college focuses well or academics along with society and extra curricular activities which also influenced my decision.The admission process was conducted through Delhi University procedure. Eligibility depends on completing class 12th and qualifying through the entrance process used by DU. After the after the results and cut off education list are released, students confirmed their seats by submitting documents and paying the fees online. Overall admission process is what all the competition and cut off can be high with me getting into top colleges difficult. Admission process was through CUET UG exam. The selection was done through CSAS portal based on our preference list and marks in CUET exam. Compared to other colleges, Janki is pretty quiet and isolated from other du colleges, which is good for safety. It is evolving each year and for an off campus college it's amazing.
