Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is really good but perhaps, one of the most difficult courses in DU. Exams happen only at the end of each semester which is good because you have time to do other things. Overall, it's good but perhaps, not so much in terms of placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is really low. It is around 17k for each year. I didn't have any scholarships but I really do think that it has a lot of value for money. For that money, you get a lot of value as in good faculty and infrastructure. Quite affordable.

Campus Life

5

The classes in this college are really good. They mostly have smart boards which helps. The library is also really good. There are different cultural and other societies which helps in skill development. Overall, you'd like the social life of the college.

Admission

I didn't apply to any other colleges because DU colleges are generally the best for arts and commerce courses all over India. They also have a good social and cultural aspect, overall. That's why I chose it.

Faculty

4

The course has 7 subjects. Three core subjects and 1 GEC, VAC, SEC and AEC each. In this college, the department of commerce and economics is really good. Other courses are also good but you might find better colleges for that. The faculty to student ratio is 1:60, I'd say.

Night Life

4

There are no gyms or anything as such on campus since there are no hostels. But you might find good gyms around the area. There are no hostels as well but you can find good flats and pgs in the area. So yeah, it's pretty good.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
