This year fees will be Rs.304000.This is the fixed fees for each year. in the first year there is an additional Rs.3000 to be paid as registration fees. There are no extra fees such as development fees or lab fees. There are 5 categories for paying fees ranging between Rs.200000 and Rs.500000. This is based on the entrance exam VITEEE rank . The lesser the rank ,lesser the fees you pay. This also depends on the group you are selecting. If there is more demand for a particular group you might end up paying more to get that group compared to a group with lesser students preferring it.

Admission

This college is near my house so i can come home whenever I want. Many seniors recommeneded this college over other local colleges. There was one other college where I dint get the desired group I wanted. That was SSN college of engineering where I got mechanical Engineering wheras I wanted electronics engineering . I dint get there because of my low cutoff score. So I chose VIT.

Faculty

4

The faculties are all doctorates in their field of study. Most courses have a theory component and lab component. They have seperate credits for each. The faculty to student ratio is 70:1. Most of them are very approachable in their cabin or via phone and email. There are 3 exams for each semester . 2 continuous assesement tests and 1 Final assesment test. there are also 3 digital assignments for 30 marks. The FAT exam is for 100 marks and has a 40 mark weightage. This happens at the end of the semester. Minimum marks needed to pass the FAT exam is 40. There are 2 CAT exams for 50 marks each. These 2 exams have a 15 mark weightage in the overall grade. To pass the subject overall the studnet need more than 50 marks and in the FAT 40 marks minimum is needed. Revaluation is allowed for FAT exams. These exams are quite easy but a certain amount of study is required to pass these exams. CAT 2 exam is an open notes exam which is of higher difficulty. Depending on the strictness of the faculty the number of students clearing the exams varies. Most faculties try to pass all students if there is relevent content in the paper. Basic concepts and studies is enough to clear the paper . If you want a good grade then lot of study is to be done to get more marks than your peers since the theory paper is relatively graded. The grades in descending order are : S,A,B,C,D,E,F. The lab courses are absolutely graded. The course curriculum is relavant because it keeps getting updated every 2 years by the university.

Interview Experience

5

No group discussion. Only 1 test which is mcq exam for 100 marks which is used as entrance exams. Minimum 60% is needed in boards. Normal preparation for boards and JEE will help in cracking this exam. the sections include logical reasoning , maths, physics and chemistry.

Night Life

5

No freedom to move around in night. girls in time is 8 pm and boys in time is 9 pm for hostellers. All the gyms, cafetaerias, libraries close by 9 pm. Campus in time is 8pm after which students will not be allowed inside. All the canteens are famous hangout spots where couples and friends hangout. It is safe to move around in night.
