Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum at VIT is highly relevant, flexible, and comprehensive, preparing students for both professional careers and academic advancements. While the inclusion of industry trends and practical projects is commendable.

Internships Opportunities

4

The Internship program offers an excellent variety of opportunities, from large MNC's. The internships provide students with a chance to gain practical, industry-relevant experience, build professional networks.

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible to sit for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. VIT attracts a wide range of companies. In 2024 there were approx 18000 offers. The highest package is 88LPA. Most offers were made by TCS.

Campus Life

5

There are two Annual Festivals called Riviera and GraVITas. Riviera held in February and GraVITas in October. The Library is very vast and contains all the books. Campus has Cricket ground, Basketball ground and Tennis courts. Students run the Clubs and Social groups.

Hostel Facilities

4

VIT Vellore offers separate hostels for boys and girls, with options like AC and Non-AC. Rooms are typically shared by 2,4,5,10 students. Internet and laundry facilities are available. The food menu typically includes South Indian meals. There are limited number of rooms and will be selected by students based on the rank(NCGPA).

Admission

The other colleges I applied to SRM and Manipal. I choose VIT because of Rank and Reputation, FFCS, Placement opportunities and Campus Life. The fees was hihg compared to the VIT in SRM and Manipal so I didn't choose them. Eligibility criteria is 60% in maths, physics and chemistry in 12th.

Faculty

4

VIT follows FFCS(Fully Flexible Credit System), allowing students to choose their subjects anf faculty based on availability. There will be 2 CAT's and 1 FAT basically 2 mid terms and one final exam. CAT will be conducted for 60 marks and FAT for 100 marks. The faculty to student ratio is 1:60.Faculty members are generally approachable but sometimes they will be not there in their cabins.

Night Life

5

The campus gym is paid and Hostel gym is free. There are multiple Cafeterias wihtin the campus. The Entry to the Hostel is restricted after 9:00 pm. We can roam outside until 8:30 pm. Students often gather in hostel loungers for group discussion, movie nights or casual chats.

Other Applied Colleges

Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT University] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.
