Remarks

It is a good college with good faculty and administration. Sometimes they were a bit too strict on the issue of attendance and would harass students on days before their exams if they didn't meet the required criteria.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is rather long and tedious. It starts out fairly easy in the first year, but in the second i.e. third and fourth sem, the subjects get a bit tough as they are more practical as well as mathematical.

Internships Opportunities

No. I don't know how I can write no in 200 characters. This is a bullshit requirement that won't let me proceed and frankly it's getting on my nerves right now. Thank you very much for understanding.

Placement Experience

1

Not that great. I don't know what job opportunities were available especially since I was more interested in doing my masters after having done my graduation. Also, whatever jobs I did during this time were unrelated to college.

College Events

4

The college has its own annual fest which is celebrated with much enthusiasm and fervor. The fest is three to four day event with several big and small functions. Some reputable guest is called on one of the nights and the students (and the teachers too, hopefully) have a gala time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is fairly affordable, thanks in large part to the government subsidizing most of the tuition fees. However, I have observed that it is more than the fees in our neighbouring college- Ram Lal Anand, which sadly doesn't have an Economics department.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not personally availed any scholarship or loan facility and am unaware of any such facilities provided by the college. However, one can request the college if in need of a loan or scholarship.

Campus Life

4

The college has a couple of computer labs, a fairly good library and a sizeable field where students can be seen playing cricket, football etc. Apart from this there are societies for every kind of art such as music, literary, photography and cinematography etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

There is no hostel infrastructure in the college per se. However, the area around and near the college has several pgs and apartments available on rent. Satyaniketan, which is close by, has arrays of flats and pgs on rent.

Alumni/Alumna

I have not encountered any of my alumni in my three years of college but it is customary for all senior students to maintain a cordial and helpful relationship with their junior batches and come forward in times of need.

Exam Structure

It is a semester based exam system where one has to appear every six months. The syllabus is divided in a way that is compatible with this mode of evaluation. Moreover the marking scheme is based on the sgpa system.

Admission

At first the teachers checked my percentage as to whether it fulfilled the required cut off. Then I submitted my documents to the college which were first processed and reviewed. After that the fees was paid and admission was completed.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of the Economics department is a good mix of professors. While some of them are very interesting and easy to work with, the others require far more patience. All in all, it's a competent department.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.
