Course Curriculum Overview

5

Curriculum is the best part of VIT. They update it after every 5 years and make it relevant to the industry level. We have our exam after every 5 weeks and dates are given in academic calendar in the beginning of the semester and dates are fixed 99% of the time.

Internships Opportunities

5

After admission, you'll get a mail credentials from VIT. You'll get the internships mail there. Like 10 mails regarding internships every single day. So VIT gives you many opportunity for internships. Since i am in first year and still learning skills, i have not applied for internships yet.

Placement Experience

5

From 3rd year or 5th to 6th semester, we are elgible for placements. Last year TCS made gave more than 1000 offers. Highest was 1 Cr and 9.9 LPA was average package. About 80% students are placed this year. There's a catch in VIT that if you scored less than 60% in 10th standard then you aren't eligible for placements. I'll be going for off campus placement after my second year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is category wise, varies from 16 lakhs to 28 lakhs depending on your category. Tution fee is 495000 maximum which is for category 5 and 195000 for category 1. Category depends on your rank is uncertain actually. They provide scholarships for upto 500 rank and to continue this scholarship, you'll have to score 9 CGPA in every year. They also provide other scholarships also. You'll get mail regarding those, once you are enrolled.

Campus Life

4

Riviera is the cultural held in February and graVITas is the tech fest held in September. More than 90% events are paid in these fests. In the whole semester, excluding these two fests many events are organised by clubs for free. Library is good actually in VIT. Total 4 floors are there including ground consisting of books and journals. There are projectors installed in each classroom and labs. We get credentials for VTOP(student portal where everthing is managed). VIT is Crowded which is the worst part actually.

Hostel Facilities

4

Depending on your budget, you can opt for AC or Non AC rooms and decide how much sharing room you want, varies from 2 to 8 sharing. Mess is catrer based, if you got good catrer then good meal otherwise mess is mess. Registration is easy when you are in first year and then after rooms are allotted on basis of your CGPA like you'll give them preference and they'll alot on the basis if your CGPA. We have PGs outside the campus and they are cheap too but coming for college is hard daily because of huge campus.

Admission

I applied for JEE, BITSAT, Manipal and VIT. I want to pursue CSE in bachelors and i got CSE in VIT so i took VIT. I wasn't able to clear the cutoff for CSE in other colleges. Maybe i wasn't prepared that well. For VIT, there is a entrance test VITEEE, give this exam and you'll get your rank. On the basis of that rank, couselling will be held and you'll have to do the choice filling for the branch and category. Upto 1 lakh ranks will get chance to get admitted in Vellore and Chennai campus. 60% in 12th in PCM is required for eligibilty. Admission was very smooth actually. There's a catch in VIT that if you've got less than 60% in 10th standard than you can't appear for placements in VIT.

Faculty

4

There are total 3 exams after 5 weeks. CAT 1, CAT 2 and Final one is FAT. You'll have lab exams also. Theories are graded relatively and labs are graded absolutely. As i have heared of other colleges that faculties doesn't teaches well. In VIT they give their full effort and in the mid of the semester, reviews are also taken for your faculties. You can contact them anytime you want depending on faculty.

Interview Experience

5

Only MCQ test was taken, which is VITEEE. When i was preparing for JEE Mains, i also did for VIT. 2 hour 45 minutes test for VITEEE is given in which apart than PCM, English and Logical reasoning is also there. No negative marking is there.

Night Life

1

We cannot leave hostels after 9pm in night without any genuine reason. Outside university there are many hangout places like Mamu gali, Selvam square, etc. There are free gyms for boys and girls both but only one. You'll have to pay for other gyms. We cannot leave campus after 7 pm. We get nightslips, which allows us roam in campus after 9pm but for clubs and chapters works only. So concluding, NO NIGHT LIFE OUTSIDE HOSTEL.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
