Course Curriculum Overview

5

i choosed my course becaue i was always interested in electrical componets and also in computer science and coding so this seemed like the perfect choice. in this course we are studying the core components of electrical and also of computer science like we have semiconductors, digital electronics, microprocessors and microcontrollers, python, java, c programming, software engineering, cybersecurity, this would give a wide knowledge of components for doing many cool projects and building stuff. i feel that this curriculam is really the what the future needs it really build you for the future by doing this course you would be excellent in robotics field it field or just electrical field and many more though this course might be tough at times due to its vast knowledge. i feel like this course must have a lot more labs than theory classes since this field requires practical learning.

Internships Opportunities

4

some top tech companies are: amazon, tcs, accenture, nivida, wipro are some of the companies that provide interships. many hackathons and coding competitions offer interships as prize, many startups prefer hiring vitians for remote tech companies

Placement Experience

4

students at vit vellore become eligible for campus placements form their seventh semester. the university well known for its strong placement recore and collaberations with top companies. toprecruiters:microsoft, amazon, deloitte, accenture, tcs, infosys, wipro, intel, qualcomm and more. no of offers: vit consistently secure thousands of placement offers eacch year with many students receiving multiple offers. highest package:1.02 crore per annum. avg package: 7 to 10 lpa. vit boasts a high placement percentage with nearly 90-95% of eligible students securing jobs through campus placement. after completing my ecs degree i plan to either pursue a high paying job in software or ai related fields or go for higher studies in a top university to specialize further

Fees and Financial Aid

since i got a good grade in vitee under category 1 my fees was 1,95,000 plus 3000 caution deposit that is 1,98,000 per year for me but fees would also vary a little depending on the course like my friends in civil and biotech engineering pay 1,73,000 plus 3000 that is 1,76,000 per year. the collage also has scholorship depending on your score on the viteee enterance exam like if you 1 to 10 rank you get 100% fee waver for four years, rank 11 to 50 get 75% fee waver for four years, rank 51 to 100 get 50% fee waver for four years, rank 101 to 500 get 25% fee waver for four years.

Campus Life

5

the campus life in vit vellore is amazing with many facilites to enjoy including onw of the biggest known fest where thousands of students participate with the top known artists come to perform in the fest RIVERA, it happens usually during february of every year which is a total vibe. the periyevar central library is one of the biggest library with almost every book available in all the genres, its peacefull atmosphere is the best place to study since the classrooms are not really up to the marks. they are not ac and can accomadate 70 students but they do have projector for smart learning and teachers make the best use out of it. sports facilities available here is mind blowing you can find tennis court, badminton court, cricket ground, football field, basketball court, swimming pool, table tennis, indoor games, ac and non ac gyms

Hostel Facilities

5

hostel quality is really good i am in a 4 bed ac room and its really cozy and good, it has a study table with chair with night lamp and a personal cupboard with mirror. the hostel has 3 types of messes veg, nonveg and special mess the special has some extra verieties such as fruit juice and chocos in the morning and soups in the night with a better quality in the food and in special there is both veg and non veg so you can eat what you want.overall the hostel is a great experience

Admission

i had applied to many collges and i got confirmed admissions from amrita bangalore, manipal, dayanand sagar bangalore, bms, jain, pesand vit but i choose vit vellore because of its large campus and beautifull campus life and its one of the top 10 best collages in india with almost every top tech companies coming to campus for interships and placements. vit vellore is also known for its research papers so it would be really helpfull for projects and doing your own research and future. vit also has some of the best equipped labs for a very good practical exposure. other collages lacked the diversity that vit had to offer and also the average packagge is good with the highert reaching 1cr

Faculty

4

in vit vellore the faculty to student relationship is mixed it depends on how as a person you are if you are open and disciplined the teacher might really take a liking to you and help you in you studies and problems although all the faculties are very approachble and makes sure that the learning is intereactive. i really like my calculus teacher and physics teacher( jitendar behra) he was also the head of physics his way of teaching physics was really different and his notes were the best among all he used to make sure that everyone is understanding the concepts and make sure to also teach it in a practical way during lab hours. some faculties altough are the exact opposite they are horrible in teaching and make sure that you dont get good marks in exam like my friend had premkumar for physics he never came for most of the class and the back of the class coudnt even hear him and he wantedly cut marks a lot in internal exams now coming to the exam system we have 60 marks internal and 40 marks internal now in internals there are 2 exams cat 1 and cat 2 each is out of 50 marks and have 15% weightage so together thats 30 marks and the rest 30 makrs are from assignments and quizes that makes up your internals and the final test FAT is out of 100 marks and a 40% weightage is considered that is 40 marks which makes up 100 marks but an important thing is that its relative grading which means that the grade you get depends on the average of your class if the average is really low then the passing marks might go down but you do need to score a minimum 20 out of 40 in weightage in fat to pass that subject. now in terms of difficultivity i would say that it is average but cat 2 exam is open book and is generally harder than th normal exams

Night Life

2

there is not much night life in vit vellore since the intime in the main gate for boys in 8pm you cant really explore outside during night, its more worse for girls since their intime is like 7pm itself every students must be in their hostels at 9pm where attendence will take place but one exception is the linbrary its usable till 12:30pm in the night for who ever that wants to study. in the campus some popular hangout spots are foodys where everyone meets , plays around, practice music and dance

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Placement Experience:

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
