Course Curriculum Overview

5

Curriculum and courses here are super relevant. We are doing DSA and development from the very first year. In fact, if something new comes up in tech, we get introduced to new relevant courses to keep us in the top 1% of engineers globally!

Internships Opportunities

5

We have solid backing of Scaler for internships and placements, our seniors got hired in companies like Zomato, Apple, and Swiggy with an average stipend of 35k per month, the top stipend went up to 2 lakhs per month! Scaler gives you enough opportunities for a nice internship and the skills needed for it!

Campus Life

5

Honestly speaking, we don't have a lush green, 100-acre campus here, but we have an aesthetic office-like building standing tall :) We have clubs, but there is very little participation in cultural events. Only some clubs do well, but the peer group is very good, and the weather in Bangalore is just superb good neither too hot nor too cold, just perfect. So we consider the whole of Bangalore as our campus and enjoy!

Hostel Facilities

4

We have decently spacious rooms with triple and double sharing occupancy. We get one bed with a mattress and pillow, along with one cover each and a combined table with a chair in a room. We also have attached washrooms, which is the best thing about our hostel, with hot water! We get a shared washing machine, fridge, and microwave too! Food here is very bad, you need to iterate over it almost regularly, especially if you are a nort Indian!

Admission

To get into the Scaler School of Technology, you need to pass NSET and 2 interview rounds. My reason for choosing SST was quite easy; I was very much into tech from my childhood. I used to make a lot of different projects and and I was also into entrepreneurship. When I went through their whole curriculum, this was just the perfect thing that landed in my interests, and Bangalore itself opens up a lot of opportunities, a combination of curriculum, people, peers and and place made this very obvious choice for me.

Faculty

5

We have industry leaders as our faculty. They are excellent in their respective fields. For example, our dean and DSA teacher, Mr. Kshitij Misra, worked in Snapdeal previously and teaches so well. Then Mrinal sir, he supports us in every project, open-source contributions, and a lot of things. Also, all of them are quite approachable. We have one exam every 1.5-2 months for the scaler and once every 3 months for BITS. Sacler's exams are moderate to hard, but if you attend classes, things become easy, and BITS ones are very easy. Our curriculum is very very industry relevant unlike other colleges. We do programming from the very first day!

Night Life

5

Our campus is located in Electronic City southern part of Bangalore. We have a lot of places to eat and buy things. We have almost every brand near us, like Zudio, Westside, etc. Big brands and clubs are like 30 minutes away. We have gyms, cafes right next to us. Transportation is also very available; you can get a bus to almost everywhere from Electronic City. Also, we will have the metro ready soon for an even easier commute!

Indian Institute of Science - [IISc], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Mathematics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

There wasn't really any. It was mostly the friendliness of the profs that pulled me into maths. Do note that in IISc, the first three semesters are common and you pick majors after that. The maths curriculum prepares you for a future in either industry or academia. Moreover, one can take courses in other departments to help their industry pursuits. Only way would be to make some courses more interactive, but this hasn't been a problem for me personally. Most high level courses have two exams. Sometimes not even that. And exams generally aren't difficult for someone who has kept up with the course.

Placement Experience:

from 6th semister onwards students are eligible for pkacements. I dont know about the companies of placements as iam a fresher here. The placements here are really good in this course. After Msc forensic science the annual package in an average here is 2-5 lakhs. Almost 80% of forensic students get placement here. As iam pursuing my bachelors here, iam thinking of writing the entrance exam for NFSU gujarath for my Masters.

Placement Experience:

Our university has a training and placement office for the fourth and fifth year students. Before that you need to find internship opportunities yourself. The significant companies include EY, MoSpi, RBI, NSE etc. The is around 50% placements. The highest package was around 40 lakhs and the lowest 5 lakhs. I plan on working in the RBI after my degree.
