Course Curriculum Overview

4

Curriculum was a little outdated but covered broad swaths of computer science and engineering. There was a decent choice of electives, but more could have been offered if there were more faculty members in the department. Software engineering and the curriculum do not have much in common. Majority of the professors are not well versed in the subject matter. There are usually 2 tests and one final exam per course.

Internships Opportunities

5

For software, most of the major tech companies P&G,Google, Microsoft, SAP Labs, Goldman Sachs, D E Shaw, Arcesium, AQR Capital, Visa, Citi, Capital One, Samsung, etc come. Average stipend in 80k per month. Most are developer or data analyst roles for CSE.

Placement Experience

4

Students sit for placements from the seventh semester. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, SAP Labs, AMD, IBM, Goldman Sachs, Adobe, Citi, Visa, Warner Bros, Amazon, Rubrik, Meesho, P&G, ITC, etc visit. Nearly 100% placement across all departments. For CSE, highest package was 40 LPA, average was 10 LPA I plant to work after getting the degree

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for Open/OBC category - 62500 per semester for even semester, 92950 for odd semester due to computer, internet, library, festival, medical fees, etc Fees for SAARC DASA - 2000 USD / semester Fees for Non-SAARC DASA - 4000 USD / semester Fees for SC/ST/PwD - No tution fee One time fee of 35300 for all (9100 is refundable institute and library deposit)

Campus Life

5

Festember and Pragyan are the annual cultural and techno-managerial fests respectively, held in September and February. Library has a decent collection of books. Classrooms have a projector, screen, mic, and speaker. Volleyball, TT, Tennis, Handball, Cricket, badminton, chess, basetball contingents are present. Several technical, cultural and social clubs are present. There is almost a club for every interest and niche.

Hostel Facilities

3

Room has Wi-Fi router, a desk, chair, table, wardrobe, shelf, fan, tubelight, 2 charging ports and a bed. Girls ahve 2 messes - north and south. Food quality is fairly decent. Boys have 7-8 messes, each with a different menu. Wahsrooms have 2 washing machines per floor (unless they are broken) and 1 western toilet per floor except the older hostels.

Admission

I got into IIIT Hyderabad ECE, VIT, NITK and this. I chose NITT as it is the top ranked NIT and i wanted to do a computer science degree, not ECE. I was not rejected from anywhere. JEE Main score is used for admission process.

Faculty

3

Most faculty are not approachable and not well versed in the subject matter. The CSE Adepartment especially is heavily understaffed. Few staff members are good teachers and make the subject engaging, like Professors Rajeshwari and Nithya. Course curriculum is slightly outdated. Number of papers depends on the semester. First year is for common courses, 8th semester is for internship/project/

Night Life

3

There is a paid techno gym in campus and a few eateries. However, there are no major spaces for students to use apart from SCiENT and that is also reserved for a few teams. Girls have to be in the hostel by 9:15 on weekdays and 9:45 on weekends. Boys do not have any curfew, apart from in the first year. Girls have no nightlife, except inside Opal.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.
