Course Curriculum Overview

3

I had commerce background so i chose Bcom Hons but the curriculum stands outdated. It should be revised to prepare for real world applications today for students. teaching methods can be improved. NEP lacks effectiveness for Lecture and tut classes and most of the teachers vary in defining or implementing it across DU colleges. Internal exams totally depends on subject and teacher but final exams are always at the end of each semester twice a year. The level is moderate to slight tough.

Placement Experience

2

students become eligible from 3rd year. Companies like Deloitte, Nation with Namo, De shaw etc. Deloitte makes almost 15-17 offers approx. highest package is 7LPA and medium is around 4.5 LPA. My plans after getting degree is going for masters

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee for Bcom Hons annually is approx 16500Rs. Additional exam fee is to be paid each semester which varies subject to subject. A few scholarships are also released every year during starting of a new year for supporting students. Fee remains almost the same however some financial aid can be provided on approval by principal.

Campus Life

3

college society annual fests usually occur from february to may. College annual fest Mosaic is in March-April. Library is big and has alot of books but a few and limited latest books. Classrooms are big and well ventilated but lack ACs. Ramjas is known for sports and offers a wide variety of opportunities for students. Ramjas has a number of societies from ebating, dance, theatre to consulting, finance and enactus all doing really well. These make college life more fun and help in skill building and enhance CVs. Apart from that, ramjas is also famous for politics.

Admission

I applied to all DU north campus colleges, GGSIPU, NMIMS, Symbiosis and christ university and got selected for all. I chose DU since i am delhi based and it ranks higher from other colleges in terms of career and crowd. I couldnt make it to IIM Indore integrated course since exam is very tough and competitive. The admission process is quite easy. everything happens through CSAS portal from documents upload to seat allocation and fee payment. only physical verfication of documents is required at college level. eligibility for bcom hons is english + any 3 subjects in CUET exam Admission process is smooth and ramjas bcom hons CUTOFF in 2024 was 764/800

Faculty

3

faculty to student ration for core subjects is 1 per class of 50-60 students. Some faculty are good while some can be better and more approachable. Some teachers provide fair markings and proper record while some reduce marks not realising the importance of grades in a student's life. We have total 7 subjects- 3 core(theory), GE/DSE (theory), AEC/EVS (theory), SEC+VAC (theory/practical). syllabus is moderate if you study properly and consistently. Maximum students pass however curriculum should be updated and irrelevant SEC/VAC subjects should be removed or replaced.

Night Life

3

My favourite hangout spots include- college ground, lawns, DS lane and coffee/maggi points. gym, library are also good but canteen is bad. Hostel is also there but requires rennovation. Locality is only safer to roam in groups at night.

Placement Experience:

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Although, people say that B.Com doesn't have a great scope to it, I feel like there are many life lessons that we are taught during our college years. Since the introduction of NEP 2020, there has been a rather great emphasis on practical learning. In our college, we are asked for presentations and group projects to promote learning and communication. The presence of SEC and VAC also helps you develop your soft skills, groom your personality and live a happy and healthy life. Exams are help at the end of every semester. There are a few guides and PYQs with the help of which a student can prepare for these exams. They are relatively easy in my opinion and do not require extreme efforts. Overall, it's a great experience and a great opportunity to learn so many things.

In the context of a fictional scenario, the placement scenario would depend on the specific college within Delhi University. Some colleges have robust placement cells that facilitate campus placements with various companies. The placement scenario can vary, and it's advisable to check with the specific college for accurate and up-to-date information.
