Overall experience at Galgotias University

I made my decision to take this course on the basis that I wanted to study finance and seeing the option of learning investment in depth was something which made it quite clear what I wanted. The curriculum is practical based which makes students industry ready. The frequency of exams is correct according to me and on the basis of difficulty it ranges from 3-4 on a scales of 5 but since the topics are very well covered in classes or is not that bad.

Galgotias University has high placement rates with the placement rates for this year being 5500+ offered jobs. The highest package was 60LPA and average was 6LPA. There are a vast varities of companies which offer placement from technical background till management background.

The overall fees per year including academics and hostel for me is ₹275000 (tution fees - ₹125000+hostel fees - ₹150000). There are numerous scholarships available on the basis of CUET score, class 12th%, government scholarships, scholarships for army personnels kids, etc.

The overall campus life of Galgotias University is very appreciable with numerous clubs covering all areas of extracurricular activities. There are 3-4 events happening daily in the university which include ted talks, alumni meets, etc helping holistic development and opening braj S to cultivate new ideas. The campus is huge with eye catching infrastructure. The newly developed AI block is phenomenal. Library has over 1000 books covering all areas with huge seating are. There are numerous labs and two grounds.

Galgotias University only provides boys hostel in campus and the girls hostel is situated in Galgotias College of Engineering (referred to as campus one). Both the hostels have small accomodation capacity so mostly students have to opt hostels outside the campus. Most of the hostels are located in Knowledge Park 3 which is 20-25 min drive from the university. The hostel fees is around ₹150000 for 3 seater AC room. The food in off campus hostels is not that nice and some hostels do not take care of hygiene measures. Ez stays hostels are in affiliation with Galgotias University but they do not provide apt facilities. The only good thing about them is their bus facility. My hostel provided food which tasted very bad and was prepared in very unhygienic conditions. Most of the girls hostel close by 9:00 pm and you need parents permission to stay out late and to go out somewhere for a whole day or two.

I applied to National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, Gujrat for BBA-MBA integrated. I got it's off campus college which was one of the reasons I did not take admission in that also. Also the inside college hostela were already full. Then I found out about Galgotias University and their fees for the same course was cheaper despite being a private university. In NFSU the fess for integrated course was ₹125000 and in Galgotias University it was ₹100000. While I did take a different course because of change in preference I am satisfied with my choice. The admission process was simple. First you need to fill the application form then you get a confirmation mail and allotment letter and the tou can go for document verification and fees submission.

The faculty for my course is mostly nice with many teachers holding a PhD degree. Yes there are some faculty members which are not nice on the basis that they are approachable and are knowledge but don't know how to connect to students and teachers them in a manner where the topics are easily understandable. The overall course structure is very well designed covering almost all aspects of finance with practical subjects and studies. There is a subject Basics of Investment and Stock Market Operations where we have a lab made in collaboration with NSE to give hands on training to students on how stock markets work. Exams happen semester wise i.e., there is Internal assessment 1, then mid term exams then Internal assessment 2 and lastly End term exams.

Galgotias University only has boys hostel, girls hostel is situated in Galgotias College of Engineering. Sometimes the events happening till late because of which we stay in the university till 9-10 pm. Galgotias University provides bus facility to drop students living off campus to campus one that is GCET so they can find easy transportation back to their respective hostels. Some canteen stalls stay open till late so the hostellers and students staying back for events can eat.
