Final year students undergo rigorous training and preparation keeping in view the industry requirements to help them ace up for professional careers.The Placement process begins with establishing partnerships with our industry partners and inviting them on campus to interact with the students and share information such as organization culture, career and growth prospects, roles and responsibilities and remuneration details. The interested students undergo the selection process which consists of aptitude test, Group Discussion, HR interview round and functional interview round. Once the joining formalities are confirmed, CRC team ensures smooth onboarding of selected students.

In School of Management there was a Marketing Quiz 3 M Quiz – Movies, Marketing and Music based on Movies and Music from Bollywood and Hollywood. In the activity students of different management courses of the school participated on 23 February, 2017. It was a team activity in which students were divided into groups. The objective of this activity was to interact with students and test their knowledge in the field of marketing. This activity helped the students to enhance their knowledge in marketing and brand development. The students enjoyed this activity thoroughly.

corporate Resource Centre,(CRC) at GD Goenka University comprises of a team of dedicated professionals who network with the industry and corporate partners for campus placements, domestic and international internships, midterm projects, leadership lectures, industry visits and customized consulting projects. CRC is actively involved in various developmental activities to bridge the industry-academic gap and organizes and conducts various support workshops such as Resume Building, Group Discussion, Personal Interview training, Power dressing, Corporate Grooming and Business Etiquette in liaison with faculty and industry mentors to enhance the employability of the students and get them corporate ready.

Summer internships are a mandatory requirement as per the University guidelines for the pre final year students where they are provided with an opportunity to apply the classroom concepts to the real life situations and get insights into the corporate practices.

The Masters in Business Administration is a postgraduate level qualification targeted for students coming from diverse backgrounds. The programme has core courses, competency builders, amalgamators, augmenters, practical work, case studies, industry interface and research covering all functional areas of management. Students will be exposed to healthy management practices along with theoretical constructs. They will have the flexibility of choosing optional courses in each semester to enhance and enrich their knowledge in areas other than the specialized area.

Our internship programme involves the placement of our students with reputed Media houses and organizations for a period of 4-6 weeks, at the end of the sixth semester. During their Internship students gain valuable practical hands-on experience which in turn contributes in the development of their skills and expertise in the specific fields chosen by them. Field based Internship also forges a linkage between theoretical concepts and current practices prevailing in the industry. On completion of their Internship program, students will have to submit a project report under the guidance mentors from the Industry and the University who will also conduct a Viva Voce on the relevant discipline chosen by the students.

Two well-known NDTV anchors — Ms. Puja Talwar, Editor-Entertainment, NDTV, and Mr. Nikhil Naz, Editor-Sports, NDTV, conducted the Anchoring workshop on November 24.Ms Talwar, who has been with NDTV for 18 years, regaled the students with her experiences of interviewing celebrities. She told the students how difficult it is to meet the conditions that are put up by the PR team of celebrities. “But you learn on the way. The important thing is to keep your cool, and play by the ear,” Ms Talwar said.

B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication is a three-year undergraduate course. Its main objective is to provide students the knowledge that is needed to work in ten different fields of media. These include Print Journalism, Photo Journalism, Television Production and Writing, Web Journalism, Radio Production, Social Media, Public Relations, Advertising, Event Management and Film Making. The focus of the course is practical work. The students not only get a thorough understanding of the basic concepts and theories of mass media but also develop skills that make them industry-ready.

Ms Pooja Arya, Senior Cameraperson, NDTV Group, conducted a Workshop on “Advance Camera and Reporting” on November , 2016 in the University campus. It was a hands on workshop, in which Ms Arya used her extensive experience to provide practical tips to BJMC and MJMC students.The workshop began with the screening of three news reports that were shot by Ms Arya for NDTV under different lighting circumstances. These included the interview of Deepa Karmakar, who was interviewed by NDTV in Rio soon after she qualified for the gymnastic finals.

The students of School of Architecture and Planning G D Goenka University visited Sri Lanka for a week on a study trip during February 2017. Undoubtedly, the country is most appropriately named as the Paradise Island! The students had the opportunity to experience a wide variety of sightseeing of cultural and natural landscapes of Sri Lanka. They visited monuments of national and international significance and most importantly Architectural Marvels of the internationally acclaimed architect Geoffrey Bawa. Number 11, his residence, Lunuganga estate, The Chapter House, The Parliament, The Gangaram Temple, The Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall and resorts like Avani Bentota, Jetwing Light house, The Gallery Café, the SOS Village and his brother Bavis Bawa’s famous house and Garden “The Brief”. Bawa’s predominant presence and his love for indigenous material and nature, and his exquisite taste and love for art and sculpture, and his design philosophy resonated in every nook and corner of Sri Lanka.

The course is design To provide exposure to environmental support systems as they apply to built environment. The aspects cover climatology, environmental control, energy efficiency & alternative methods of energy use and its conservation, integration of renewable energy systems and also To acquire an understanding of the determinants of built environment; such as social imperatives, environmental concerns, structural principles and the art of designing buildings. it is a five year course. and have 1o semesters in it.

Life was happening with the events that used to take place every month, the library where we could find almost everything we needed to study, the sports area where we could play all day after classes, and the canteen which was the only place to find every student.

Fees is basic and not very high, it is almost similar to that of the other colleges, It involves the tution fees and the registration charges and comes out to be a total of 60,000 per year.

Placements are average as they are not able to bring any good company intothe college, even if the companies are hiring then they are doing so for very generic profiles.

I remember the sports day where there were so many sports activities tobe a part of some and my friends went on to play tug of war against 5 huge people that it was impossible for us to win, but my friend was the only person from our side who did not giveup till the end, we din't win though but the memory of seeing him put all his energy is still afresh.

There are internals like tests, quizzes, class participation, group live projects, assignments and then there are exams which are very hectic as we have to give two exams in every alternate day, like on Monday we have digital marketing and consumer behaviour and next day we have business ethics and then we have international markets and business analytics on the same day and this goes on for a week.

To get into this college, the criteria is very simple you just need to show them a valid score of XAT, MAT or CAT, I appeared for CAT and got 39.8 percentile but they don't require any kind of percentile, you just have to appear for the tests and other requirements are the 12th pass certificate and graduation marks. Then if you are eligible you are called for GD and interview.`

campus life of 4 years is quite good as well as knowledgeable, students are friendly and help each other, there are two colleges one is coeducation and other is for girls, in coeducation 5 girls and 55 boys, so ratio is 1:11. for sports separate fields are available for cricket, football, basketball, badminton, gym is also in college. various quizzes and competition organised to push students to improve for better.

All tge faculty supports students in their study as required and demonstrate various example to make things easier in study.
