Normally the placements in Gurunanak dev engineering college commence in the beginning of the final year (Pre-final Semester) in the month of July. Prior to this, an invitation is sent to all the students and they can join the placement process.

Our college conducts many co curricular and many more extra curricular activities like debates essay writing copetitions recitals singing sports like kabaddi volley ball football carroms and many outdoor and indoor games and sports our college mainttains a health gender ratio they conduct many activities like guest lectues and many more for well being of students.

We have a 2 semester one year program which consists of both internal end external structure so that it makes students easy to adjust to the system Internals consists of Mid exams and assignments for 30 marks externals are theory exams with short answer and essay answer questions labs have internal 25 and external 75.

MHT CET its a entrance for engineering and medical. There were 4 subject Physics, chemistry, maths, biology. Physics chemistry and maths for engineering and Physics chemistry biology for medical days the criteria and m interested for engineering. So I was puts extra efforts on physics chemistry and maths subject.

I am full time student. So dint take part in internship. But some of the student from other colleges they took participate in internship. So we were happy DAT they also join us on lunch and many more extra activities.

Gender ratios were healthy with 60-65% boys and 35-40% girls. Since hostel was not there, there weren't any hostel parties.We used to have workshops on carpentary, chemicals, electronics, graphics etc. The college had diverse cultures with students coming from across India. Even the students were from different economic status . Overall it was a healthy mix of race, caste and creed.

Course curriculum was good with lot of electives in the final year with current relevant subjects as well. The first year was a general year with common subjects for all streams of Engineering with Chemistry, Physics etc. The specialization starts from the second year the specialization subjects start with subjects like VLSI, Networking etc.

Faculty are good. But the strict in the college is too crucial. There are 5 different branches like mechanical electrical civil electronic and computer. Every branches have different scopes in different fields. For different faculty are for different field.

Course curriculum is good, we get to choose 2 electives(specialization) from hr, finance, marketing and operation.I opted for marketing and operation. Marketing because it is the main part of business cause it connects customer and the product.

We go through many functions like annual function, freshers party, farewell party, sports day, elections etc. This all happen every year and also we call all the child who live nearby in huts and we give them food n all in childrens day.

Gate 2006 and I got 595 all India rank. Physics is the core subject in Gate. In MTech Advanced Materials Science and Technology is the branch in NIT Durgapur. Admission is based on Gate and interview. Interview will be based on the Physics at Bsc and Msc level.

We have multiple college level events like Recstacy, DeJaVu, alumini meet etc. We will have department level events like fresher's day and farewell day etc. For passouts grand convocation day. Any many other events related to technical festival s etc.

The placement for Computer Science and Electronics branches are really awesome. 2nd last year: 3 students got permanent job in Amazon and 3 got internship. The package was around 12L (base) + 10L stock + 2L annual bonus for 2yrs. Other students got placed in Adobe, Microsoft, Samsung etc.

There are few faculties which are good while rest are having average knowledge and teaching skills. DS & Algo faculties are very good. COA (Computer Architecture and Organization) faculty is not at all good. Networking faculty is very experienced and have good knowledge.

The Course Consists of detailed design study, including material properties, Site Lists, IV, & also not to forget the details & technicalities of Construction Management & Practical Thesis .

Well, as far as I am aware there was not internship in engineering. For sure there is no Paid internship. Engineering has vacation for not more than 2 months in one year. Out of which, one month is PL ie Preparation leave which is given to prepare for your exams.

We had 4 years. Each year has 2 semesters, making it total of 8 semesters. Subjects in first Sem being common for all streams, specific courses started in 2nd year. Last year has elective subject of Mobile Computing or Artificial Intelligence.

In this campus boys students are 90%of total students only 10% girls students are here i don't know the reason but girls % is not increasing since many years i think the reason is because of its locality. It is outside area of main town. also there is not so good environment for girls here. other than this everything is ok you can see every religion's student here 80% students are from jharkhand itself. some are from Bihar .Bengal and other States mostly are Hindus and Muslims some are local Christians all live in peace and harmony there is a student union whose President is elected by voting each year this Union helps in all sort of problems and activities for welfare of students our college is govt college so the economic conditions are not that better like private colleges but we are satisfied.

B.Tech Civil engineering is 4 years course in our college there is equal effort on both theory and practical knowledge and skill regular project works are held to improve theoretical knowledge. In civil we study various subjects in total 8 semesters these subjects include physics, chemistry, mathematics, mechanics of solids, geo science, water resources, human values,soil mechanics, etc. prof. Ajit Kumar Singh, Dr. Vikram Pandey, Chitranjan sharma are faculties of civil branch. They are very much helpful and skilled. they are products of various IIT institutions they are very much educated they are always available for any kind of help there is a friendly environment with students and faculties.

International standard of syllabus especially for Aerospace division & since nearer to Isro, trivandrm, many PhD professors from ISRO will lecture. Any how some local lecturers who doesn't have sufficient knowledge will also be there.

Similar to other colleges they have Annual day & arts day celebration. Also they have Annual symposium for each departments only for name sake. There will not be any knowledge gaining functions.

The main company joining our campus is TCS and many other are coming.Our college has a high degree value as it is a govt. college and the on campus average placement is 4-4.5 lakh. The most important thing about our college is the off campus placement are awesome.Goes up to 10-15 lakh.

Right know I don't have any experience but according to college cirrculum you have to undergo an internship. After the second year and third year.But according to our seniors you have to found the internship programme and produce the certificate or the job report.

Course curriculum was not so effective, it was purely based on traditional education system. Theoretical part was more than required.Was not linked with market practices. Few subjects like IB (international Business), Business Communications were only in theory, were not synchronised with latest industry practice.Personality Development had less practicals and was not much structured.Only Finance was covered thoroughly. Most of the areas were covered through books by different writers.

For internship, there was not much arrangement from college, few companies came that to only for marketing.I had to complete my internship through my personal efforts and links. That was not stipend based. But was good from learning perspective. Got to see how corporates work. So overall good internship exp but was not from college side.

It is having strong alumni association which regularly keep organising meets for old students and introduce new students into its folds and students of our campus are spread all over the world.

Campus life is never forgetting experience of my life which cannot be compared with my other sphears of life as it was amazing we used to enjoy campu, university canteen as well as hostel.

The college management tried to do its best, however, due to infrastructural and economical restraints, a lot of effort was restricted. Within such boundaries, the management did its best to impart the knowledge it possessed and at times it went out of its way to help the students. Overall, managment was good.

No campus interview system at that time. We had to go and look for our own jobs. The college had no role in getting jobs for us. It was our responsibility and up to us to find means for ourselves.

Best faculty with best knowledge. We had great fun in our class with knowledge. All faculties was very friendly n very nice to us. In case if we dnt get anything in our class they used to teach us in extra class too.

We have to do intership after 3rd n final year. N i did both in my college itself. They gave us IBM certification n linux knowledge. Trained person came us n give us training which help us in our professional life.

Gender ratio was almost balanced. I being a female never felt any partiality towards selection of men in any curriculum or events, besides sports like cricket or football especially held for men. Debates and seminars were held on a regular basis and our professors encouraged us to participate as frequently as possible. We even attended national level conferences arranged by Indian Academy of Science.

Our head of the department, Dr. Chandra Chaudhuri made sure that we got proper exposure to highly esteemed companies for our placement. In our graduating year, we were placed in companies like Cognizant and Infosys. Out of 39 students, 18 of us got placed in either of the two, with basic packages ranging between 12, 000 per month to 16, 000 per month.

It was one of the best college in terms of the campus life. We had everything in the campus required for a beautiful campus life. Lush green lawns, canteen, sitting area, open theaters it made for picturesque campus.The competitions like debate, conference had their own charm which encouraged competition among students and gave them opportunity to explore their hidden talents.

The college was affiliated to University of Jammu and therefore followed the curriculum proposed by them. It was old and was not up to dated.Most of the current subjects like VLSI, Embedded during that time were not part of curriculum. Though College tie ups with top universities and companies did gave us the required skill set required in the industry.
