Course Curriculum Overview

Our course (B.Sc Hons. Mathematics ) is more focused towards descriptive and theoritical method since my course belong to pure mathematics along with that I have statistics in my generic elective (GE) which is more application based. Our course is structured more towards reseach part. Whereas the commerce and economics courses are more relevant to practical industry knowldege. The usual struture is divided into two part in each sem generally known as end and mid sem exam. Whereas there exist weekly and monthly examination which majorly depends upon the teaching style of the faculty.

Fees and Financial Aid

The general fee structure of most colleges under our university same with our college. The tuition fees is affordable ranges between 16000-18000 per year . There are seperate charges for hostel and mess applicable to only hostelers. If I include the examination fee the total year fees comes about 20000. There Are several scholarship some are provide by central government , some are provided by the university while the college also provides scholarships in itself.

Infrastructure of Dyal Singh College may be median but our college isn't. The reason behind that is the students of Dyal Singh College. All are amazing and are seen getting involved with society activities rather than just doing classes and then go back home. It's our students community which organizes our unique annual cultural fest Priyadarshini. Also, in that fest each society get a chance to what they have in them.

Fees and Financial Aid

I took admission in BA Political Science (Hons) this year and the fees i paid was 12500. The original fees that college charges is high but since I got 25% Scholarship as I took admission under OBC Quota. Students who took admission under SC/ST quota is even higher. Merit scholarships are also there and they are also around 25% concession in the fees if one falls in the required criteria.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees for B.Sc. hons Mathematics is around rupees 17115. It also includes the Tuition fees, registration fees, caution fees, admission fees, development fees, lab fees and the other compulsory charges which are required for the smooth conduct of facilities and services in the college premises. There has been a minimal increase in the yearly fees over the years. There are many scholarships and incentives launched by the University of Delhi and also by the college itself like National support Portal(NSP), INSPIRE, Financial Support scheme and many more.

Campus Life

The campus life in the kirori mal college is very much happening and can surely give one many everlasting memories. The annual fest is THE RENAISSANCE which is known for the amount of large crowds that it attracts. The libraries are filled with books having separate sections for each subject. The classrooms are very well-equipped with projections, smartboards, ventilations and air-conditioned. Th e societies are also very much active and often fests are there in the canteen lawn.

Faculty

The faculty of the Bcom hons course at Dyal Singh College is experienced and approachable, always ready to guide beyond classrooms. The course structure follows CBCS under DU ensuring a mix of elective, core and skill based papers. The curriculum is focused on both theoretical and practical aspects of commerce. The examination system includes internal assessment through assignments and class tests along with semester exams.

Campus Life

Overall campus life at Dsc is really vibrant. There are many active societies and cells including drama, dance, music, photography, NSS/NCC. The Library is spacious and air conditioned and the grounds are spacious and full of greenery.A downside is that there are no hostel accommodation provided by college due to which many students have to pay hefty amounts at PGS.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is usually around 1:100. The student-teacher relationship is quite good, most faculty members are approachable and don't mind to clear doubts outside usual lecture hours. In our time few professors stood out for their deep subject knowledge and their way of teaching complex topics in simple terms but some of the faculties are still stuck to old school teaching methods. Exams are conducted under semester, with mid-semester 1 and mid-semester 2 as checkpoints. If someone misses either doue to any reason then there's a chance to appear for mid-semester 3. It also includes proficiency, practicals, and continous stream of quizes and assignments also at the end their are end semester exams these exams are most important as they are final exam and if you fail in these then it will lead to repeat the whole semester again.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is solid in terms of covering theoretical concepts and core subjects, which is what initially attracted me to the program. Semesters are well structured, each week includes quizes and assignments and there are other exams as well like mid semester, proficiency, practicals, and end-semester exams. According to real world, I think the course curriculum lacks hand on learning or industry exposure required by modern companies while recruiting. Many students find internships, workshops, and external courses to work on their practical skill for a good job. The frequency and timing of the exams are very difficult to manage as they have lot of exams in a single semester, then managing all leads to difficulty because you haave to work on your skills as well and college academics as well.

Faculty

The facultys are the passouts of this college so they have so much knowledge about the marine engineering but there are some faculties which are of no use. And about the exam system, at the end of every semester exam is conducted which is of 70 marks and you have to score 50% marks to pass the exam including the practical examination.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this college because it's the oldest and most known college in maritime industry. They have the asia largest workshop. The placement scenario is also great here. The thing which they need to improve is the infrastructure and some faculty members which are just there for the money not for knowledge.

Faculty

The faculty of college is quite good. Some teachers are really friendly and approachable. We can ask them doubt anytime and they will clear it. While there are very few teachers whose teaching method is not understandable. There are 3 core papers of 90 marks (theory) there is internal assessment too. The papers are moderate, neither too easy nor too difficult.

Fees and Financial Aid

My course fees in first year was fifteen thousand rupees and in second year it decreased and now it is thirteen thousand also there is financial support scheme for students whose family income is less than 4 lakhs they will get 100% fee waiver and whose family income is between four lakhs and eight lakhs will have 50% fee waiver.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is roughly 1:40 , the faculty to student relationship is really good , student can reachout to teachers regarding their issues and most of teachers are approachable and help studnets.Few of the best faculties from my department are - Professor Raj Kumar Sir , Dr. Prempal Sir, Dr, Neha Agarwal Ma'am. They are one of most supporting which actively communicates and help students regarding their issues. We have few senior faculties in our collge who lacks empathy. For the first two years there are 7 subjects which one has to study. The exams are easy to moderate . 90% students clear the exams. The relevance of the current curriculum is an issue.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is very good for someone who sees his/her future in reserach in this subject, if somoone wants to get a P.hd in the subject then the curriculum is good enough. But if someone wants to get a job just after their bachelors then it's an issue. The curriculum doesn't provide skiils or things you need to crack a job. Curriculum should include things which can actually provide skill building so that student who wants to get a job after bachelors can get one. Exams are conducted semester wise twice in an academic year. Exams are also focused on the theory side of the subject.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our subject also has history as History of Hindi Language and linguistics are taught in our course. A comprehensive learning of the language and also instilling belief that one language command is better than having a little knowledge of various other languages. Hindi Plygot development is what happens in our course and for that I will always be thankful to DU as not many private universities offer our course.

Campus Life

Enactus is the main club of our college and they are the ones who host college annual fest Prabha. This year it was in March and then we have another cultural fest named Pallavi too. We also had a freshers party which was Bollywood theme. In terms of infrastructure it's one building, just one gate and one huge lawn. Lawn is often used to walk or to play some sports.

The faculty to student ratio is good. The best faculty is Dr. pavan soni sir he teaches us creative mindset for imagination and innovation. I like all the faculties and they are amazing .We have online small small mcq exams every week and it is a trimester exam so we have exams offline in our city center in every 3 months.

Course Curriculum Overview

I like the creative mindset for innovation and imagination part of the course. The program or the curriculum helps you a lot for the real word application even industrial norms. You get a balanced mixture of everything like ui/ux , cmii and even coding and startup from 250 ruppees.

Campus Life

A cafeterias as good as a foodcourt is there. Even a bakery is there as Bengali are fond of sweets and I am glad that it has been taken care of. In a world where everyone takes pride in fitness, we have a wellness centre and our sports ground which may not be the biggest field of play but is lush green. We don't have many events as societies are dependent on the sponsorships on their own but our annual fest XAVOTSAV is fully funded by our college.

Course Curriculum Overview

Exams happens as per Calcutta University guidelines and the exams are always in time but results are always late as it takes long for results to come. Our course though has everything that probably a BCA student goes through and our program is rather advanced than a BCA from a private university. Just four classes daily and that leads to chaos in the end and therefore it should be 6 lectures daily and then this chaos will be gone forever.

Campus Life

For sports there's one ground and it is used widely for playing football as it's the major sport of SXC. For indoor a small room with few sports facilities and majorly isba social place as that is where team bonding and all happens. Library is big and is air-conditioned as it was transformed recently on students request. Unlike many colleges where it's hip-hop culture, here it's study culture and therefore just one annial fest in XAVOTSAV is all we have.

Placement Experience

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

80 acres of campus is ours and we have 3 canteens and a juice bar. We also have an economic society and then activities and fests at JGU keeps going as JGU means festivities. With a marquee event on globalization our economics fest Youthopia is hosted every year by our university. We then also have an annual fest called Biswamil where story telling to dance and music every thing takes place. We also have a sports fest as our Naveen Jindal Sports Complex hosts over 60 college students for the matches.

Placement Experience

EY, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley and all other companies which defies international economics are the ones which recruits students of JGU. Theh even conduct seminars and workshops and tells us the things which we need to add in our arsenal to be fit and ready for placements. Jindal Students of Economics easily score placements worth 5-7 lakhs and nearly all the students who wish for placements gets it too.

Course Curriculum Overview

Not that helpful but I have lots of knowledge about all these and can stand in front of anyone. Classroom disscusion built my confidence. The course is all about ECONOMICS and COMPUTER SCIENCE. In economics - principle of economic and so on. In CS we have data structure and all.

Fees and Financial Aid

Teachers are so supportive but there will no information or update regarding anything from their side like commencement of classes , exam dates and days , last date of exam form and so on. And these are the things , should be provided by them

Course Curriculum Overview

I would rate the course curriculum as highly relevant and moderately comprehensive. I really liked maths, specially calculus that's why I opted for this course. Curriculum needs improvement to be applicable for real world applications. They need to include the units where we learn that where maths is applicable in real world. The difficulty of end semester examination is high but the timing is also less which pressurize the students and their mental health.

Campus Life

As I'm a first year student I don't have experienced much to tell, but yeah in our college there are department wise freshers party and also there are different fests that take place of different departments like maths department organizes SUPREMUM, the fest and also sports events as well. There are different societies which students can join as per their interest and enhance their skills with that particular society.

the clubs were great.. we had educational exposure, creative exposure, donor exposure, helping exposure, NCC, sports etc etc.. our college even won a few international and national medals through these clubs. The campus was huge many places to hangout and explore but considering the number of students the canteen space was less.. it was an animal and nature friendly campus.. we had various herbal plants around the campus. Initially there were outdoor seating tables so that helped during luch hours but they've removed those for some reason. Every year YUGAM was celebrated a 3 day fest conducting many workshops, fun dance areas many food and shopping stalls. The library was also big but few books weren't up to date but there was enough space and wifi provision the library to work in peace it was open even during the weekends

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly, we had to pay between 145000 to 165000, depending on the number of subjects/credits in that particular year. Apart from the course fee there was a placement training fee of 15000 every year that needed to be paid. Incase of opting for transport it used to vary but i used to pay around 18000. at the end of every smester for the ESE exams we need to pay exam fee for each subject 300 for theory only subjects and 500 for embedded subjects. The hostel fee used to be aroung 75000-100000 according to my classmates. Students could enter through foundations and scholarships and if they maintained a good merit they'd also be awarded 10000 as prize each year
