Campus Life

My college life is too good. I had done too many things including participation in different activities, groups, clubs and playing sports. There are some technical events like "Innovate" which are the one of the biggest events in terms of the technical department. Some Cultural events include Swagatham, Rubaroo, etc. There is a wide range of books and journals available in the library, If one want to study there, then there is a separate area where tables and chairs are available. student can take the book from the library for some time also. The faculties and technological provisions within the classroom is too much good as there are projectors, and Smartboards available in the class through which, the faculties teaches us. There is a separate sports section in our college. There are many indoor games like chess, carrom, table tennis, etc which are available for students all the time. Outdoor games includes Cricket, football, Athletics, Basketball etc. There are many tournaments like Khel, Spardha where students shows their tallents in the field of sports. Any student can run social grouups, cluubs, or student portals which includes the impact on student life. All he/she have to do is to take the permission from the faclty.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year-wise fees of CSE-Core is 300000. There are many other branches of CSE like AIML, Data Science, Cyber Security, etc. which have the fees structure accordingly. Registration fees was 10000 at my time. Security fees was 11000. In my batch, the fees varies from 700000 to 1200000 (full course) according to courses and the respective branches. In the new batch of 2025, the fees got increased by 50000, got 350000 per annum. There is no such criteria for scholarship in our college. But, there is a scholarship program from SRMJEEE exam. If the student gets the rank between 1 to 23 in the entrance exam of SRM, that is SRMJEEE, he receives 100% scholarship according to founder's scholarship, which guarantees him/her 100% fees return. If the student gets the rank between 24 to 68 in the entrance exam of Srm, that is SRMJEEE, he will get 100% scholarship according to Merit Scholarship. Then comes Rank-based Scholarship. If student gets the rank between 69 to 128, then he/she will get 75% scholarship. The students in the range of 129 to 203 will get 50% scholarship. The students between 204 to 293 will recieve 25% scholarship.

Fees and Financial Aid

as a b.com evening student of st.xaviers college , kolkata ; following is the fee structure that i have to comply with ; Rs.58500 to pe paid at the time of admission for the 1st installment of the 1st semester. the 2nd installment for 1st semester costs Rs. 32700. This is the fee structure for the 1st semester. It is inclusive of the fee for the library with e-resources facility and cyber fee. This fee structure is as per the year 2025- 2026 and is subject to change for other years. To get the fee structure at the time of your enrollment , the same will be available on the college website as well. For the 2nd semester following is the fee structure: 1st installment - 34000 2nd installment - 31500 Fees is subject to revision to maximum of 10% each subsequent year. Scholarships are available like the father joris scholarship and some other schemes which are not all merit-based but some are for students with low- parental income. No concrete information as such has been provided for these scholarships as it is decided on the basis of the students situation. NOTE: This is fee structure is subject to differences in course, batch and the year.

Faculty

the faculty to student ratio oof the college is 1:9 with a student count of 8614 and 365 faculty members as of december 2024. As a b.com student ; following are the faculty members i came across and became really fond of for the teaching techniques: - sukanya sarkel - rohan prasad gupta - koushik chatterjee Per semester there are only two exams. One are the mid-sems for 40 marks and there is the end-sem which is of 80 marks. Both these exams are considerably easy considering the ward has paid due attention in the classes and has attended them consistently. The resources for studying are also provided by the teacher right away through the LMS app.

Internships Opportunities

There are lots of them. Some are paid even. I cannot name companies right now. But there are many private organizations, NGOs who give internship opportunities to us students. Majority of them are towards BCom and BMS students. But many of them are open to All Students. So if you wanna grab an opportunity then there will be no crisis of the same. Also the fact that I like the most is that companies offer internships in various domains. What's that? Some may offer internship opportunities in content writing, others in CS related fields, others in finance related fields etc. etc. So again lots of chance to explore. I personally haven't done any internships. I passed on all the opportunities that have come through my first year and third sem as of now.

Faculty

The faculty is pretty much approachable but not always useful. They try hard but sometimes miss the mark. They simply read out from notes and slides. Some others put in genuine efforts. Exams and marking schemes are fair and square. The good thing is no faculty gives questions outside their notes. They mark appropriately. There are broadly two exams per semester. One mid term and one Semester Exam. The difficulty depends on subjects and how well you are upto date with class notes. As I said nothing beyond class notes.

Fees and Financial Aid

St Xaviers College, popularly known for its extensive corporate exposure, provides a very student friendly experience all around. The fees which ranges from around 3-4 lakhs(inclusive of all) for the entire course, is payable in easy installments (two per semester), and thus helps students to easily manage the payments. SXC offers financial aid to students truly requiring it, especially those whose family income stands at less than 12LPA, and over the duration of the course intimates about external scholarships available for worthy students to avail admission. One such Scholarship is the Reliance Foundation Scholarship, which covers 80% of the total fees.

Faculty

The faculty at SXC is truly great, all of them are extremely approachable and ready to help at all times. They can be contacted via mails and even through LMS portals. SXC has two exams per semester, the mid sems and the end sems and have an extensive breakdown for the 100 marks for the total score, which includes assignments, mid sems, end sems and a separate tab for attendance as well. More than 90% of the students clear the exams easily each term, as the questions reflect the material taught during lectures.

Faculty

Faculty is good. Their teaching methods are engaging and they are very knowledgeable in their fields. They are very experienced teachers as well. They are approachable and helpful. The head of the department in my course has interesting lectures and teaches in a way that makes knowledge easier to absorb. There is no faculty I particularly did not like. They are 2 exams in a semester which are the mid semester exams and end semester exams. The mid semester exams have a weightage of about 20 marks and are relatively easier. The end semester exams have a weightage of 70 marks. Attendance has weightage of 5. Assignments have a weightage of 5 marks as well. Exams, overall, are not easy but they are not particularly difficult either.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is aligned with NEP guidelines and updated. It includes multidisciplinary courses and internship requirements along with participation in social activities which leads to holistic development of individuals. It helps to prepare the students for professional endeavours and real-world challenges. It is also more mathematical which I prefer. The course could benefit from more real-world exposure. Exams take place twice in a semester. There are mid-semester exams and end-semester exams. They are not easy and requires students to keep up with the academics as classes go on but they are quite manageable.

Course Curriculum Overview

PGDM is more practical oriented compared to traditonal MBA. PGDM from IIBS prepares us for business world in more practical way because in IIBS every week they conduct an guest lectures regarding trending topics from the market which helps us being prepared to tackle real world business challenges. Area for improvements needed in teaching methods they should stop teaching theory or only conducting classes or lectures they shoud give us real world business challenges & problems to solve they can teach us in a better way by coducting industrial visits for us. The last i gave it was internal exam DTE 1 the timing of the exam was 1:30 hrs bus think this time is not enought they should give atleast 2 hours.

Campus Life

Social Life: Students are from many states all over the India,so campus is diverse and friendly. Ther are cultural fests, festival celebrations, and networking events with seniors and alumni. Clubs: Functional clubs(finance, marketing,HR), event committees, and some cultural/sports groups. Activities depend on how active students are- good if you participate. Infrastructure: Smart classrooms, library, computer labs, Wi-Fi, decent hostel with mess, but canteen variety is limited, Sports facilities and campus size are modest.

What a beautiful campus that we have right at the nose of Vishwavidyalaya area in Delhi. Surrounded by colleges and students all around. One can play sports as we get enough times during the day and facilities are also good. Business conclave and all also happens at our college. Annual fest Crossroads is also superb.

Faculty

Exams are difficult as DU passing percentage isn't high for B.Com (Hons). However at our college it is 90% or so because we have students who are hard working and then faculties teaching is so entertaining that we also study hard. Miss Bhoomi Kapoor is my favourite faculty though all are good and kind.

Course Curriculum Overview

i choosed cse(DS) because i have always been interested in how data shapes our world and how technology can be used to solve real world problems.i was also attracted to the fact that data science is one of the fast growing field. teachers teach using old study methods like making students make notes and getting checked and explaining all topics in class but i think it should be like taking ppt on topics from students and making them present in class so that he does not fail to learn that thing and other students will also improve their ppt making skills as it is required in upcoming sector of their job or in startup field also. the frequency of exams are quiete nice i mean our cia 1 are on 9 oct and cia 2 are on 24 nov and end sem are around 1 december to 31 december as told till now .

Faculty

the faculty to student ratio in jss noida is pretty decent , i mean in core branches they take high number of students and but they divide them into 80-80 students so that is matched.the faculties are easy to approach and help us when in need and they are maintaining a good relationship with us . the faculties which i liked are mohit chauhan sir (assistant professor)- because he is such a genuine and helpful person and he answers our questions so nicely. course curriculum is old type like aktu one .

Internships Opportunities

Our college provides diverse internship opportunities through industry collaborations and campus recruitment drives. The Career Development Cell ensures that students are connected with reputed organizations across technology, management, and research domains. Some of the leading companies that have offered internships include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL, Deloitte, Amazon Web Services, and BYJU’s. The roles generally offered are Software Development Intern, Data Analyst Intern, Business Development Intern, and Cloud Engineering Intern, with stipends ranging from ?8,000 to ?20,000 per month. The internships are project-oriented, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems. For example, Software Development Interns worked on application modules, bug fixing, and testing features before deployment. Data Analyst Interns handled projects involving data collection, cleaning, and visualization, preparing reports that helped organizations make strategic decisions. Business Development Interns contributed to market surveys, lead generation, and client engagement, strengthening their communication and analytical abilities. Students interning with cloud-focused companies worked on setting up virtual environments and implementing security protocols. The outcomes of these internships have been highly beneficial. Students not only acquire technical and domain expertise but also develop teamwork, problem-solving, and professional communication skills. Several interns also received Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) based on strong performance, making internships an essential stepping stone toward successful careers.

Faculty

some of our faculty is quite good but some aren't . I liked my maths and EVs teacher cause it seemed like they were the ones putting lots of efforts into teaching , though EVs is a light subject but still the teacher made sure that it doesn't look boring to students , I hated my phy and manuf. teacher

58,500 for 1st installment during admission, 32700 for 2nd, 34000 third, 31500 for fourth. Overall there is a 10% increment per year. so im looking at a 6.4 lakh in the four years. admission fee was 12000, registration 500, marksheet fee 2000, session fee 8000, library +cyber fee 2000, tech enable teaching fee 1200 per year and 8100 tuttion fee, 14100 additional fee, 9300 development fee every installment 2500 exam fee per semester. i do not believe there is any change for other students as there are no reservations in the college we have multiple scholrships available depending on merit after 1st sem results get out. the college also has tie ups with various pvt institutions that conduct aptitude tests for the same. it pulls for more than other colleges do for bcom course, but its worth it.

Campus Life

There are lots of clubs. Commerce, finance, management, dance, music, drama, just name it. The clubs host ots of events, all year round, there is no end to it really, while flagship events are spaced out, the fests mostly are held from nov - march. the seminars do not have moenthly divisions. the library is huge, thousands of books and very well organized. its divided into reading sections and duplicate borrowing sections so that no one misses a chance to get hold of a book. there are projectors in every room, a huge blackboard and whiteboard. indoor games as well as outdoor game equipments are well stocked with proper trainers in each sport. the peer group is very good, pushing everyone to make memories and perform better at the same time.

There are over a 100 societies and our college has three canteens and all of them have dustbins around as no littering is entertained in the campus. Our sports complex is quite good and also our library and reading area too. So sports wise we are well equipped and are doing well at the university level. Our annual event crossroads is also one of the largest event of DU as over 170 colleges participated in it last year.

Faculty

SRCC faculties are someone who doesn't believe in flop show. So, I am lucky to be under them as I am getting a learning of next level. First year was amazing and second is even more amazing as we have new faculties and they don't just teach us well but also joke around in the class to keep the atmosphere healthy inside the classrooms.
