IGNOU CKLC FAQs

Ques. Is the CKLC programme at IGNOU recognised and valid for jobs?

Ans. Yes, IGNOU is a Central University established by an Act of Parliament, and its certificates are recognised by all member institutions of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The CKLC certificate is valid and recognised. However, for professional Korean language jobs (translator, interpreter, etc.), you may need to pursue higher-level programmes or proficiency tests like TOPIK.

Ques. Do I need to attend classes physically for the CKLC programme?

Ans. The CKLC is a distance learning programme, so you do not need to attend regular classes. However, you are required to attend counselling sessions at your designated Study Centre, which are typically held on weekends. These sessions are important as they cover oral practice and practical assignments.

Ques. Can I complete the CKLC programme online without visiting any centre?

Ans. While the study material and assignments can be managed from home, you must visit your Study Centre for counselling sessions and practical oral assessments. The Term-End Examination is also conducted at designated exam centres. Fully online completion is not possible for this programme.

Ques. What is the difference between CKLC and CCITSK at IGNOU?

Ans. CKLC (Certificate in Korean Language & Culture) focuses specifically on Korean language and culture, while CCITSK (Certificate in Communication & IT Skills) is a programme designed for BPO/IT industry professionals covering English communication and IT skills. These are two completely different programmes.

Ques. Is there any scope for higher studies after completing CKLC?

Ans. After completing CKLC, students can pursue advanced Korean language courses, appear for the TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) examination, or explore opportunities with Korean companies operating in India. IGNOU does not currently offer a higher-level Korean language diploma or degree, so students may need to look at other institutions for advanced studies.

Ques. What happens if I miss the assignment submission deadline?

Ans. If you miss the assignment submission deadline, you will not be eligible to appear in the Term-End Examination for that session. You will need to re-register for the next session and submit assignments within the prescribed deadline. It is strongly advised to submit assignments well before the deadline.

How to change IGNOU subject/course/medium?

Dev Anand

how to change subject/course/medium at IGNOU:

IGNOU allows changes in certain circumstances:

  • Subject change: possible within the first 30 days of admission for the current session. visit your regional center or apply through ignou.ac.in ? student zone ? program change/subject change
  • Program/course change: if you want to switch to a completely different program (e.g., BA to BCA), you generally cannot transfer — you must re-apply for the new program fresh. some provisions exist within the same school/faculty
  • Medium change: can typically be changed with a written request to your regional study center

the annual window for changes is narrow — usually the first month of each admission cycle (Jan or July). after the window, changes are not generally accepted. visit ignou.ac.in ? student support or your nearest IGNOU regional center. bring your enrollment ID and relevant documents. call your regional center to confirm the current process as IGNOU procedures can vary slightly by center.
