FAQs on Lovely Professional University B.Sc Honours
Straight answers to what students ask before they decide.
Is B.Sc Honours at LPU worth the fee?▾
It depends on the course and on your scholarship. The full fee without hostel is INR 4 Lakhs to INR 10 Lakhs, and only Agriculture publishes placements: 80% placed at a median of INR 6.6 LPA in 2025. A 50% LPUNEST scholarship halves the programme fee. Check your group's fee and the ROI tile in the fee block before you decide.
Which course group should I pick?▾
Pick the subject you want to study for four years, then check its fee. The groups cost INR 4 Lakhs to INR 10 Lakhs without hostel, and the fee follows the course, not your score. Read who each group suits in the course group block above before you fill your choices.
Is Agriculture worth the higher fee here?▾
Yes, if you want a job in seed, crop care or farm input companies. It costs INR 10 Lakhs without hostel, the most in this degree, but 359 of 449 graduates were placed in 2025 at a median of INR 6.6 LPA. If you score 220 in LPUNEST, half the programme fee goes.
Will I get a job after B.Sc Honours here?▾
For Agriculture, most students do: 80% of the Class of 2025 was placed. LPU publishes no placement figure for the other 14 courses. If a job right after the degree is your plan, ask the placement cell which companies came for your course last year before you pay.
Who should skip B.Sc Honours at LPU?▾
Skip it if you need placement numbers for a course other than Agriculture, because none are published. Also skip it if the fee is hard for your family and you cannot score 150 in LPUNEST for a scholarship. If neither worries you, compare your group's fee with the ROI tile above.
Should I take a research course or a regular one?▾
Take a research course only if you want a research project in your final year. The research groups charge once a year, INR 6.40 Lakhs or INR 4 Lakhs for four years, and neither course group has student reviews yet. If you are unsure, the regular course in the same subject is the safer pick.
Is this degree good for higher studies?▾
Yes, the honours degree is four years long and leads to an M.Sc or research. In 2025, 90 Agriculture graduates went on to higher studies, next to 359 who were placed. If higher studies is your plan, pick the subject you want to study further.
Should I wait a year for a better college?▾
Only if you have a clear better option. LPU stands #31 among universities and #17 in agriculture in NIRF 2025. Waiting a year gives no promise of a seat elsewhere, so compare the colleges in the compare block above before you decide.
How do I get admission to B.Sc Honours here?▾
Apply online, take LPUNEST in any phase, or use a JEE Main or CUET score. You need 60% in Class 12. Set your course choices in online counselling, then pay the first semester fee by the date on your letter to keep the seat.
Is the fee the same for every course?▾
No. The fee depends on the course group: INR 10 Lakhs for Agriculture and INR 4 Lakhs for the Physical science research group, without hostel. The fee block above shows every group, so tap yours before you compare.
How much does the hostel cost?▾
A 4 seater air cooled room costs INR 83,700 a year and three meals a day cost INR 75,000 a year. Over four years that adds INR 6.35 Lakhs to your fee. Bigger rooms and AC rooms cost more, so check the room list before you book.
What LPUNEST score do I need for a scholarship?▾
A score of 150 out of 400 gets 30% off the programme fee, 175 gets 40% and 220 gets 50%. The scholarship comes with your result. Use the checker above to see what your score range gives you.
