University of Calcutta Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

B com is a course that is aligned with the course of chartered accountancy so I choose this and So the primary reason was that. The faculty at our college are pretty good. In a class of almost 70 students, there is a teacher. They are highly educated and qualified and the level of exams is also very tough to crack.

All the syllabi are fully covered as per Calcutta University and the teaching style was too good and the chapters are covered in detail. After classes and notes it was easier for the students to crack the exam. Notes are too good for revision practice.

I choose Bcom hons as I want to pursue MBA in finance so I want to the finance field. The faculty member of the college for this course is good. We have six semesters which are quite difficult but with proper teaching, we manage to pass

Big companies often visit for placements such as Big 4, De Shaw, reputed banks etc. The placement ratio is very high compared to other bcom colleges. There is a brand value attached to this name which will fetch you an added advantage

Students become eligible for campus placements in the third year. Various big companies offering a good package comes to college every year and a good number of student get placements every year. Students even leave their professional courses to join those companies

Students become eligible for campus placement from SEM 5. There are a lot of companies coming into the college such as BIG 4's. Average packages are around 6-8 lacs. The highest package is around 20 lacs

I chose English Honours because of my love for reading. The faculty of my college was very supportive, helpful and most importantly listens to student's queries and try their best to solve them. Each professor has a Master's degree and some of them have over 15 years of teaching experience. My college was very punctual with examinations, without any major reason, there wasn't any delay in exams or other events. If studied properly, passing any exam was easy since each professor gave a lot of pointers regarding their respective subjects.

Big four companies every year pick students from our college for internship and job purposes and many mid-size firms also appear for the same. Our placement cell is one of the best departments designed to provide various kinds of internship opportunities exclusively to our college students

Placement starts in the third year. Multiple companies visit and a decent no. Of offers are made. 24 lakh per annum was the highest offer made. Most of the students do not go for placement they are either pursuing a professional degree or others go for their master's like MBA.

I chose BA EDUCATION (H) because I got the highest in education in class 12 .it's a subject that is very important for art students one must definitely have this subject as general if not honors and it is the most important course for those who want to be a teacher just like me .this course helped me a lot in my higher studies (masters ) as well. There are a total of 5 teachers one of which is the Head Of The Education Department we call her HOD ma'am.
