KEAM 2026 Index Score Calculation
The KEAM 2026 engineering rank is determined by the index score out of 600, which gives equal weightage to your normalized KEAM score and normalized Plus Two marks:
| Component | Weightage | Maximum Score |
|---|---|---|
| Normalized KEAM Entrance Test Score | 50% | 300 |
| Normalized Plus Two (or equivalent) Marks | 50% | 300 |
| Engineering Index Score (Total) | 100% | 600 |
The KEAM 2026 entrance paper consists of 150 MCQ questions for 600 raw marks (+4 for a correct answer, -1 for a wrong answer). CEE Kerala normalizes this score to 300 before combining it with the normalized Plus Two score to produce the final index score and engineering rank. A higher index score corresponds to a better rank in the KEAM 2026 rank list.
Minimum Qualifying Marks for KEAM 2026
CEE Kerala requires students to meet a minimum normalized score in the KEAM entrance test to appear in the rank list. Category-wise requirements are as follows:
| Category | Minimum Normalized Score (KEAM Entrance Test) |
|---|---|
| General / SEBC | 10 marks |
| SC / ST | No minimum marks; must have recorded a non-zero score |
Students who meet these conditions will receive a rank in the KEAM 2026 rank list and be eligible to participate in CAP counselling rounds. Students who do not appear in the rank list will not receive a rank card.
