Tests to Study in Australia - IELTS, TOEFL, GMAT, UMAT, etc
To study in Australia, an international applicant must mandatorily present proof of English language proficiency. For admission to Australian Universities, students must fulfill the following criteria:

Admission process is quite simple to study at Australian university. An applicant must pass standardized tests and proceed with the application process thereafter. The scores of each entrance exam must not be older than 2 years.
English Language Requirements- IELTS, TOEFL, PTE
To prove English language proficiency, natives from non- English speaking countries must produce tests scores of either of the following exams:
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
IELTS requirement in Australia is compulsory to fulfil not only for academic purposes but for visa as well as. IELTS scores are accepted by most universities in Australia for admission to bachelors and masters programs.
Band requirement to study in Australia on the basis of IELTS may vary as per the level of program selected by the students. However, overall minimum IELTS score is 6.5 with no band being below 6.0. Band requirement for Australia after graduation is 7.
TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language)
Conducted across 130 countries across the globe in 2 modes, Australian Universities accept TOEFL (Internet-based test) scores. These are considered equivalent to that of IELTS, the most preferred exam to prove English language proficiency. The overall score of 590 or more is preferred to get into Australian Universities.
PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English)
An alternative to IELTS and TOEFL scores to prove English language proficiency is PTE. Pearson Test of English can also be used to prove proficiency in English for visa acceptance. An overall score of 58- 64 is acceptable for both undergraduate and graduate courses.
Cambridge English Advanced score of 176 is acceptable in some Australian Universities. For each skill examined in the test, a score of minimum 169 must be obtained.
Study in Australia without IELTS or TOEFL
Students who complete their academic curriculum of previous years (approximately for 5 years) with English as a primary mode of instruction may not necessarily produce English Language Proficiency Proof.
Following universities admit students without IELTS or TOEFL scores if they accept an English program at the university prior to commencing their degree. These universities are:

In another case, English language test scores of CAE and PTE are accepted in place of IELTS and TOEFL by:

University of Southern Queensland, Bond University and the Swinburne University of Technology accept students whose secondary education medium of instruction was English. University of Southern Queensland also suggests undertaking USQ pathway programs for admission to the university.
Entrance Exam for Undergraduate Program
To get admission into undergraduate medicine program in some universities in Australia, UMAT score is a mandate. Minimum 50 marks must be scored in each section covered in the exam. Colleges accepting UMAT scores are:

- Monash University
- University of New South Wales
- University of Queensland
- University of Western Australia
International Student Admission Test is another exam determining the admission of a foreign candidate into the medical and healthcare programs. A minimum of 60 marks is required to be eligible for admission to Australian universities.
Students seeking admission to law programs in Australia at both, undergraduate and postgraduate level must submit LSAT scores. The institutions accepting LSAT Scores are:

- Australia and the University of Western Australia- Faculty of Law in its JD (Juris Doctor)
Entrance Exam for Postgraduate Program
MCAT score or Medical College Admission Test Scores are required for admission to medical programs at postgraduate level. The minimum score requirement is determined sectionally. An international student must have obtained 125 marks in each section of the exam.
GMAT scores or Graduate Management Aptitude Test scores are accepted at some business schools in Australia. However, GMAT scores are not mandatory to undertake MBA program in Australia. GMAT score of 680 or above can help students grab their seat in some of the Top business schools of Australia.

Is GRE required to Study in Australia?
GRE is NOT required compulsorily to study in Australia. However, some universities in Australia require it for MBA admissions. While GRE score is not compulsory but it can be helpful if a student seeks scholarship opportunities.
GRE score can be beneficial as it improves the chances of acceptance at top universities in Australia for an international student.
