    How to Get Admission in Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Fashion Technology)

    Mode of Entrance

    Top entrance examinations for B.Tech in Fashion Technology (FT) are as follows:

    NIFT GAT: NIFT’s General Ability Test applications are available online from October to January.

    TNEA: The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions application forms are available online and offline in the month of May.

    JEE Main: The Joint Entrance Exam applications are available online in the months of December and January. Candidates can opt for either pen-paper based exam or computer based exam for Paper 1. This paper is for students applying for B.Tech in Fashion Technology.

    Entrance Test

    Except for TNEA, the other two entrance examinations have negative marking of 0 to 1/4th.

    The number of questions ranges from 90 to 150 questions. The time allotted for the exam is 3 hours.

    The candidates applying through JEE Main exam will be assessed in subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

    Admission through TNEA is purely based on Merit Counselling and there is no Entrance Exam for this. In merit counselling, the candidate’s class 12th score will be scaled to 200 in subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

    Selection Process

    In TNEA, the selection is based exclusively on merit counselling system as mentioned above. If selected, the candidate can choose the college in which they want to pursue B.Tech in FT.

    The selection process for NIFT GAT and JEE Main is entirely based on NIFT GAT score and JEE Main score.

    Lateral Entry

    The Lateral Entry, entrance into second year of the course is also available in colleges like NIFT and Anna University.

    The eligibility for lateral entry is 10th+ 3yr Diploma in Engineering/Technology or BSc in any stream with subjects as Mathematics.
