    MEd or Master of Education is a professional post graduate degree, usually of 2 years which one can complete within a maximum time span of 4 years. Although few colleges offer this course for 1 year also. The course generally comprises 4 semesters. 

    To get admission in a MEd, you must have qualified your Bachelors of Education course with an aggregate score of 50%-60% from a recognised board or university. Some colleges and universities do operate their own entrance tests to offer admission in MEd course like Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET), Aligarh Muslim university Entrance Exam (AMU Exam) and alike. You can also pursue this course both full time and part time.

    ALERT: DUET 2020 Registrations will begin from April 2 ,2020 onwards till April 30, 2020.

    MEd offers you the opportunity to opt for electives or specialization in the last semester of the course. MEd syllabus comprises core subjects like Educational Psychology, Human Rights and Education, Comparative Education and alike.

    There’s a 5% relaxation in qualifying pass percentage for all those aspirants who belong to SC/ST/OBCs and differently abled categories.

    This program holds a greater benefit for graduates, who after completing the course successfully can set into lucrative careers in various sectors. After pursuing MEd, you can roughly expect an average salary package of around INR 4.5-5 lakhs per annum.

    MEd admission can be procured through both merit based and entrance based mode. Few colleges conduct their own entrance examinations. Once the applications for the entrance test or the merit list have been released by the university, you can easily apply for admissions in that particular college or university. Below given are some steps stating the admission procedure for the same.

    Step 1:- Either visit the official website of the institute or visit the institute’s admission office. Collect the admission form or download it online.

    Step 2:- Next step is to fill the application form, and uploading/attaching the required documents as per the guidelines and the specifications mentioned.

    Step 3:- Final Step is to make the fee payment.

    After successfully submitting the application, take the print out of the application for future reference. After the closing of application forms, candidates will be shortlisted either on the basis of the merit list released or on the basis of entrance exam score. 

    MEd Eligibility Criteria

    In order to pursue MEd, you should meet the below mentioned eligibility criteria:

    1. General Candidates:- Minimum of 50%-60% marks in graduation course from a recognized university
    2. SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled candidates:- 5% relaxation in qualifying percentage in graduation
    3. Candidates should have done B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) in graduation.
    4. Aspirants pursuing BAEd (Bachelor of Arts in Education)/ BscEd (Bachelor of Science in Education)/ MscEd (Master of Science in Education) can also apply for MEd depending upon the institute policies you are applying for.

    Hi Roshni, yes, you will be eligible for admission in M.Ed as per your qualification. But different colleges/universities will have distinct percentage criteria. Thus, your eligibility will depend on the college in which you are applying for admission.
