DU B.Ed 2019 Exam Pattern; Mode, Total Questions, Marking Scheme, Syllabus

University of Delhi organizes B.Ed Entrance Exam annually for admission to various B.Ed colleges under Delhi University. DU B.Ed exam cover questions from reasoning skills, language skills and teaching aptitude tests. The candidate who score 65 % or more in the written examination will get a good chance of receiving call for the next level of selection or interview. Next level is strictly based on the communication skills otherwise the interview may not yield positive result.

DU B.Ed course will give the candidate knowledge on teaching method and different aspects related with teaching. The University gives admission to the student in different colleges affiliated with Delhi University.

  • Duration of the entrance test will be of 2 hours’.
  • There will be 150 objective type questions involved in the exam form General Knowledge and Teaching Aptitude; Language Proficiency; Reasoning and Subject Knowledge up to class X.
  • For every wrong answer ¼ mark will be deduct.

Qualification Details of DU B.Ed Entrance Exam 

  1. Aspirants who have a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in graduation in 10+2+3 or else 11+2+2 pattern can apply for this exam.
  2. Those who have a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in graduation in 10+2+2 or else 11+3 pattern can also apply for this exam.

If you’ve desire of getting admission to B. Ed programe offered by Delhi University then you must qualify the entrance test conducted for the same. Before appearing in the test, it is must to know about their exam pattern and syllabus as without it you can’t prepare for the test in a right direction.

DU B.Ed Exam Pattern 2019

This exam has got two sections. The first section will be an objective type exam and there will be 3 papers. Bilingual Language Comprehension and Mathematical Thinking & Reasoning papers will carry 30 marks each and maximum time allowed for these papers will be 40 minutes. Subject Knowledge paper will carry 40 marks and time duration for this paper will be 50 minutes.

The second section will be of descriptive type and the maximum time duration for this paper will be 20 minutes. This section has two parts which are compulsory and carry 10 marks each. The candidates need to score 65% marks to qualify in this exam. Those who qualify in the test have to attend an interview which is the final screening process before admission.

Section A – General Knowledge and Teaching Aptitude: This section will contain questions that would test the candidate’s general knowledge and awareness of social, political, environmental and economic issues. The section will also contain questions to examine the perspective and analysis of and responses to teaching – learning situations.

Section B – Reasoning: This section will assess the mathematical, logical and verbal reasoning abilities. It will also assess candidate’s abilities to analyze and interpret data and find solutions to problematic situations.

Section C – Subject Knowledge up to Class X: This section will contain questions based on understanding and application of concepts in Science, social science and mathematics up to secondary level.

Section D – Language Proficiency: This section will assess comprehension in both English and Hindi.

Syllabus of DU B.Ed 2019 Exam

Part A consists of General awareness, reasoning and language comprehension (compulsory for all candidates). This section would include areas to assess abilities of the candidates such as reasoning (mathematical, inductive & deductive), identifying and understanding the relationship among various elements, decision making, data analysis, interpretation. Items in the fields of education, national and international affairs, etc. would also be included in this section to assess their understanding in these areas also. Further, a passage would also be included in this section based on which a few objective type questions will be asked to assess the candidate’s language comprehension.

Part A (1 mark each)

  1. General English Comprehension or General Hindi Comprehension- 10 questions
  2. Teaching Learning & the school- 25 questions
  3. Logical and analytical reasoning- 20 questions
  4. Education and General awareness- 25 questions

Part B (20 marks)

B2 of the entrance test will assess the candidate’s teaching aptitude and their chosen subjects understanding. Aspirants have to choose any of the following subjects depending on their specialization.

  1. Science
  2. English
  3. Hindi
  4. Mathematics
  5. Social Studies

Hi Linta The eligibility for the b.ed is given below:-

For B.Ed program – Candidates must have a Graduation or Master degree in Science, Humanities, Commerce with at least 50% of marks. Candidates with B.Tech/ B.E degree must have obtained 55% of marks with specialization in Science and Mathematics are eligible for admission to the program.

Eligibility for Choosing Teaching Subject – Candidates have to choose one subject within a subject category which they must have studied in the qualifying degree for at least 200 marks and obtained at least 50% marks in this subject.
