Reproduction can be defined as a biological process with the help of which an organism produces offspring with similar traits. We are able to exist only because of reproduction. Reproduction can mainly be divided into two categories: Sexual and asexual reproduction. In asexual reproduction, the organism does not require the presence of another organism to give rise to a new offspring that is completely identical to itself. Here, cloning can be commonly observed taking place among single-celled organisms. In order for an organism to reproduce sexually, the involvement of another organism is mandatory. The nature of the offspring formed is similar in some ways to both the parents in sexual reproduction.
