ICSE Passing Marks Criteria 2027

To pass any subject in the ICSE Class X Supplementary Exam 2027, a student must score at least 33% in each paper and in each component (theory and internal/practical assessment) of that subject. The 33% threshold applies independently to the theory paper and to the internal/practical assessment — a student who scores 33% in the combined total but falls below 33% in one component may still be declared fail in that subject.

Passing the supplementary exam in the failed subject(s) upgrades the student’s overall ICSE result to a full "Pass." To be declared "Pass" in ICSE Class X, a student must pass in English Language and at least 4 other subjects — a total of 5 subjects minimum. Is 26 marks out of 80 a passing score in ICSE?

Yes. In the 80-mark theory paper, the minimum passing score is 26 marks (33% of 80 = 26.4, which rounds down to 26 as the effective threshold). However, scoring 26 in the theory paper alone is not enough to pass a subject. You must also score at least 7 marks out of 20 in the internal/practical assessment component.
