- Russell talks about his three passions. The three passions he aspired were love, knowledge, and pity for the suffering of human life.
- Russell starts the discussion with the desire for love. He says, with love he can abolish loneliness and overcome the sufferings of life. He believes love brings bliss in life and for that bliss, he can sacrifice his life. He says in love he has seen the heaven that saints and poets imagine.
