Example From Class 7 Chapter 3 Data Handling

Ques. 200 students of classes 6 and 7 are asked to name their favorite color in order to decide the color of their School Building. The results obtained are tabulated below. Represent the given data on a bar graph.

Favorite Colour Green Red Blue Orange Yellow
Number of Students 19 43 55 34 49

Ans. At first, the X and Y axis are chosen correctly to represent the data.

Next, based on the number of students against each color, shading is done to indicate the choices of the group of students. 

The bar graph for the above-given data can be represented as follows:

X-axis represents the colors and Y-axis represents the number of students.
