  • Scores secured in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
  • Date of Birth
  • Category of the candidate

The total marks taken into consideration for ranking is 200. The majority of the marks is contributed by mathematics. The rest is shared by Physics and chemistry. The rank list is prepared based on the highest marks obtained by the candidate in the year. Once the cut-off marks are obtained, the marks are then arranged from highest to lowest.

In some cases, the same marks are secured by more than one candidate, and then the ranking is given by age hierarchy. The category plays a major role in it as all colleges have a specific percentage allotted to different categories. In cases where the marks and date of birth are the same, then the rank is allotted by random or lot system. The candidates who have secured equal marks will be allotted a random number. The number will be arranged in the ascending order and the ranks are allotted in the basis on the number. The rank allotted by the university is final.
