NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
NATA 2019 or National Aptitude Test in Architecture 2019, organized by Council of Architecture or COA is a national-level examination for admission of candidates into the architecture program all over the country. NATA 2019 comprises 2 papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. The exam will be held in offline mode i.e. it is pen & paper based.
As per NATA Exam Pattern 2019, the question paper will have a total of 60 questions in paper 1 from General Aptitude and Mathematics while Paper 2, i.e. Drawing test will have 2 questions for 40 marks each. 60 questions are asked in Paper-1, 30 each from both the sections. The paper will consist of the Aesthetic Sensitivity Test and Mathematics test. Questions raised would be based on imagination, perception, creativity, observation, communication and architectural awareness of the candidates. It has to be completed in the first 90 minutes of the exam. For every correct answer candidates are awarded 2 marks and there is no negative marking or deduction of marks for un-attempted questions.
Candidates will have to attempt 2 questions in this paper. Each question will have sub sections. They have to draw or sketch a diagram in 3D as per their visualization, symmetry and sketching ability. Candidate’s NATA drawings test his/her imagination, observation skills reflected, sense of proportion and perspective, sense and use of colour and composition in the drawing. It has to be completed in the last 90 minutes of the exam and both the questions are of 40 marks each.
NATA 2019 will be of a total of 200 marks. Paper 2, i.e. drawing would be checked by a panel of three examiners independently and an average of marks is taken. In case of MCQ, the candidate scores on the basis of the number of correct answers. There is no negative marking for incorrect answer in NATA but, in case of tie-breaking, wrong answer will be penalized.
