IGNOU February 2021: As per a statement issued by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), December term-end examination will now be held from the first week of February 2021 in traditional pen and paper exam format. The university has made no changes in IGNOU February 2021 exam format.
Keeping in mind students’ queries, and concerns, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has also released details regarding the term-end exam, along with the validity of exam fee, form, and eligibility on its official exam portal; ignou.ac.in for candidates to check.
Regional Director of IGNOU, Nagpur, P Sivaswaroop stated that the university will commence the examination through traditional pen and paper mode and there aren’t any changes in the exam format.
He further added, "The exams are scheduled to start from February first week. It will be held for all eligible students".
Earlier, during IGNOU TEE June 2020 which were held in September and October, it was only IGNOU students, who appeared for pen and paper examinations in Maharashtra state, amid the pandemic.
IGNOU September/October 2020 Examination was only held for students of final year orl semester in accordance with guidelines prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Exams for other students were postponed due to increasing cases of coronavirus pandemic in the states.
IGNOU stated students who could not appear for the university examination held in September/October will be eligible to appear in the exam held in December 2020. However, in view of the current situation, it further rescheduled IGNOU TEE December 2020 to the first week of February 2021.
IGNOU exam pattern along with format relaxed passing marks and mandatory assignment submission guidelines have not been altered for upcoming examinations.
Even, Vice-Chancellor of IGNOU, Nageshwar Rao showed his concern regarding maintaining the credibility of the IGNOU examination for students.
He stated, due to the pandemic, and the commencement of the online home-based examination in Maharashtra state, students of other universities went with negligible passing marks rules.
Confirming the examination schedule, Regional Director of IGNOU, Nagpur, stated that the examination form along with fee submission dates for eligible students is still valid till December 15, 2020, for those who wish to appear for the February 2021 examination.
Regional Director of IGNOU, Nagpur, P Sivaswaroop said, "All the exam forms in the database will be automatically carried forward.”
“Non-final year or semester exam students who have filled the exam form and paid the fee for June 2020 do not have to do anything again. All those submissions will remain valid till February 2021" he further added.
