The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is set to introduce several combinations of subjects across various academic programs. The Course-wise Registration Certification Scheme (CRCS) has been put in place to give students an option to choose up to 16 credits.
IGNOU has opened registrations for interdisciplinary programs so that students can opt for specific courses instead of registering for the entire program. They can opt for either single or multiple courses. In order to obtain admission, the candidates must meet the eligibility criteria of the program which the courses belong to.
The university has begun applications for all programs except for the courses which are part of the research degree and awareness and appreciation level programs. So far, there is no provision for separate counseling and lab-work schedule.
The duration for completion of the course can be between 6 months to two years, which is the maximum period. Once a student has already opted for a course, he/she will not be permitted to change to a different course.
The courses offered by IGNOU will be at UG, PG, Diploma and Certificate level. Students who successfully complete the course will be awarded with a completion certificate.
The offered courses include MA (Hindi), MA in Gandhi and Peace Studies, MA (Translation Studies), Bachelor Of Tourism, Bachelor of Library and Information Sciences, PG Diploma in Gandhi and Peace Studies, PG certificate in Gandhi and Peace Studies, PG Certificate in Agriculture Policy, Diploma in Tourism Studies, Certificate in Information Technology, Certificate Programme In Library And Information Science, Certificate Programme In Peace Studies And Conflict Management, Certificate In Tribal Studies, Certificate In Arabic Language, Certificate In the Russian Language And Certificate In Tourism Studies.
