Several Kolkata colleges begin UG admissions online due to Covid-19 Pandemic
Several colleges across Kolkata started the admission process to their undergraduate courses this week.
Several colleges had announced on their websites that the entire admission process will be online owing to the Covid19 pandemic.
On Tuesday, St Xavier’s College, Kolkata, began accepting applications for undergraduate courses and declared the cancellation of all entrance examinations. The students are now to be evaluated on the basis of Class XII examinations.
The online applications for St Xavier’s College (autonomous) are open till 20th August. The selection will be based on the ‘index marks’ that will be calculated separately for individual courses.
The TimesView Universities and colleges will be quite occupied with the management of first-year admissions during this season.
Some clarity will be very helpful in order to dispel confusion to some extent on the admission related know-hows
Several colleges which are affiliated to Calcutta University will begin admission by accepting applications only upon declaration of higher secondary examination results. Some institutions have even initiated the admission process.
The vice-chancellor of CU, Sonali Chakravarti Banerjee stated that they are yet to conduct a meeting to discuss and form informed decisions regarding CU admissions to UG courses.
