Remarks

The main advantage of this college is the kind of opportunities that arise for every student to grab and develop themselves towards it. There is a lot of support for ideas and everyone has a good social life among themselves. The job opportunities are nothing to worry about and many different activities remotely related to the main courses like community service, etc. Are also carried out. The large variety of people coming from around the county and a few foreigners even, make it a great environment for everyone. There are some negatives like bad faculty at times and seldom politics involved in many management decisions but regardless a student is meant to have a good time and be properly developed into a good professional.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is vast and most of it is easy to go through. There are both technical and non technical courses that are needed as both basic and advanced education in technical skills as well as skills such as soft skills, professional skills, general aptitude, etc. There are 3 CT's (cycle tests) conducted every semester which comprise of the portions completed before each Ct and these marks and marks given for other surprise tests and assignments compromise of 50% of the total marks given for a course. The other 50% is calculated from the final semester examinations.

Placement Experience

4

The job opportunities are excellent in SRM with to companies coming from around the world to pick eligible candidates for either internships or straight jobs with decent to very high pay. Im not too sure about whether the college does provide internships because I'm only in my 2nd year and i think if they do, they will provide them for senior students.

College Events

3.5

There are a lot of different activities that go on round the calendar but the highlights are the once a semester fests like Aaruush and Milan that each last four 4 to 5 days and comprise of exciting activities and celebrity performances.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees may be in the expensive side for many Indian students because anyone below a certain rank depending upon the field chosen pays around 2.5 lac and above thet rank they must pay 3.5lac per annum. In mechanical engineering that rank was 25000. This rank is what you scored in the SRMJEE entrance examination.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't taken any loan facility but i think during counselling they have some desks that have banks providing loans.

Campus Life

4

There are 2 large grounds, in which one has space for 1 and half proper sized football pitches and the other has a laid out 400 mtr track. Labs are well equipped and most courses utilise these labs for many different purposes as well as research.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel are very decent and there are no problems such as water shortages or electrical cutoffs and everything has backup systems. There is WiFi around the whole campus with good speeds depending on location and network traffic. There are different kinds of hostels for different price ranges and food and laundry services are all included in that price. The food quality is decent and they try to give a large variety for both north and south indians but due to they large quantities pushed out, they sometimes lack to taste for many people. Cleaning services are provided daily without fail and any issues are dealt with almost immediately.

Alumni/Alumna

There is a large alumni network from which prominent personalities are frequently invited for guest lectures and seminars. Senior students are very helpful and often there are tech teams that work on different projects that consist of all year students researching and developing different products.

Admission

I applied for their entrance exam, SRMJEE 2018 online nd had to submit identity documents. Later i gave the exam which was not too tough nor easy. The results came out and i got a ranking of around 30k, which meant i was eligible for mechanical engineering that i wanted to do. After counselling we had to pay the full fees for a year and then get admission completed.

Faculty

2.5

The faculty is qualified to teach everything. There is a mixed environment of professors in the sense that most are difficult to have a friendly conversation with and care mostly about their own ego and 'professional prowess' and can be very arrogant and mean regarding almost anything. The other type of professors that are really good exist but is small numbers. Nevertheless the teaching is good and no course is lagged behind and everything is completed on time.

From the very entry into your third year, you will be eligible to most of the placements. The training provided is very exquisite and some of the trainings start as early as 1st year. 2026 highest package was 55LPA. Many companies like from product companies like Microsoft, Capgemini to service based companies like TCS, INFOSYS etc.. visit our campus for regular placements. About 98% of people placed as far as I have heard.

It provides a good foundation for technical knowledge, but including more industry-oriented projects, hands-on training, and updated technologies would make it even better for future career opportunities.
