Remarks

The positive of the college is that the placements is very good for some departments. The faculties are not so efficient. The hostel facilities are the worst. The security guards always try to create nuisance for the students.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The course curriculum is a little outdated. It needs to be updated to be at par with the industry standards. There are four sets of exams at SRM. The first is the Cycle Test 1 which is for 25 marks. It carries a 10% weightage. The second exam is the Cycle Test 2 which is for 50 marks and holds a weightage of 15%. The third exam is the Cycle Test 3 which is for 50 marks and holds a weightage of 15%. The University Finals is of 100 marks and holds a weightage of 50%. Assignments and surprise tests hold a weightage of 10%.

Placement Experience

4

The placements in SRM are very good. It is the best for the computer departments. The average salary package offered my mass recruiters is 3.5-4 lpa. But if you are a little hardworking and dedicated. Then you could easily get a good package above 5 lakhs. Some students have also successfully got 30lpa job offers from companies like Amazon and Udaan.

College Events

1

There are majorly 2 events in the college. The Techno Management fest called Aaruush is held in the month of September. It is a four day long event. The cultural fest of the college is Milan. Its is held in February - March. Apart from them, there are multiple departmental events, team events, SRM MUN, The SRM Hackathon etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The current fee structure is 3.6 lpa for B. Tech. It is a little expensive. It used to be 2.15 lpa 3 years ago but the fees for drastically increased after that. Apart from that, there is the hostel fees which is another lakh.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers Student Abroad Program. In this, the students get an opportunity to go to a different country and study their final year in one of the colleges which our college has a tie up with.

Campus Life

2.5

There are a ton of labs in the campus. Most of them are for academic purposes while some are also for teams working on some bug project. There is a sports scholarship offered to the students and the students good at sports can avail them.

Hostel Facilities

1

The hostel facilities are the worst at SRM. From rooms to the mess, it is the worst at everything. The hostel bathrooms are always dirty and always stinking. The rooms are small and half the windows do not slide properly or are broken. The cupboards are very small.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is not very good. There is hardly any contact with any alumni. Once in a while, we get to meet any alumni. The seniors are pretty helpful. They always help you out in any kind of academic problem as well as with personal matters.

Admission

I filled up the admission form which was available on their website. I gave the online test at a nearby test centre on the date provided by them. A few days later I received my All India Rank. I went for the counselling program and selected my course. Finally joined the college.

Faculty

2.5

Some faculties are good and knowledgeable while others are not good. Most of the teachers are not bothered about the students so they don't care about them. They are mostly very strict in their marking system.

About 70 percentage of the students got placements successfully. I am planning to pursue a master degree abroad

Placement Experience:

From the very entry into your third year, you will be eligible to most of the placements. The training provided is very exquisite and some of the trainings start as early as 1st year. 2026 highest package was 55LPA. Many companies like from product companies like Microsoft, Capgemini to service based companies like TCS, INFOSYS etc.. visit our campus for regular placements. About 98% of people placed as far as I have heard.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is fairly relevant and comprehensive, covering both theoretical concepts and practical applications. It provides a good foundation for technical knowledge, but including more industry-oriented projects, hands-on training, and updated technologies would make it even better for future career opportunities.
