Our university secures a rank within 15 in all categories by NIRF ranking conducted by HRD.Last year we were 13th in overall category.Jadavpur Universitu is very reknowned college where a student flowrish their own passions and fulfill their dream.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculam is very nice.It is basically based on the power plant related studies.there is some basic mechanical and electrical subjects taught in our delartment.Then the specialised subjects of power engineering is taught There is 8 semester for 4 years.In each semester there is 6 written subjects and 4 sessional subjects or lab exept 4th year.In 4 th year written subjects are 4,2 projects,2 labs or sessionals and 1 seminar where we have to give a presentation.
Placement Experience
The placemmet scenerio is nive.But now a days tjere core companies are recruiting very few students.Most of the atudents are placed in non-core or IT companies. Many companies cime for internship where there is several rounds for intake.the stipends vary from rs10000 to 40000 per month deoending upon the company and profiles.
College Events
The events celebrated are 1)freshers program-CIPPUS and U-TURN 2)cultuaral fest-SANSKIRTI 3)technical fest-SRIJAN 4)reunion-every departments have their own reunion ceremony.For power engineering department it is BLITZ
Fee Structure And Facilities
Tution fee is very less.For four years it is 10000rs.and in every sem university charges a amount of 64rs for written exam expenses.As it is a state government run university all the funds are giben by our west bengal government.So to persue engineering in our vollege very less fee is required.In the faculty of science and arts the fee also less though I can not say the accurate amount.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is many scholarships for students who are who are economically weaker and also who belongs from resereved category like sc,st,obc.One can get a mouny of 50000 rs a scholarship every year.But it varies according to the funds given to yhe university.
Campus Life
There is many extracurriculam activities held in our college.Many workshops on digital field like robotics,cuber security,ethical hacking,drones making etc.We have a seperate photography club,mountaineering club,dance club where students can join and achieve knoledge where there are interested.
Alumni/Alumna
In our reunion most of the seniors students pass out students come and meet.There is also a seperate cell for alumni network where all the contacts are taked securely for future help in placements and any kind of funds.The relationships are also very good.
Admission
I have given the entrance examination named-WBJEE(west bengal joint entrance examinantion) I secured a rank of 1394. There is three round of councelling for admission.I have managed to get admission in food technology department in Jadavpur Uninversity. Then after 1 month a spot round happens where the vacant seats are filled up.In spot round I chose Power Engineering Department and I took admission in this department.
Faculty
All our faculty teachers are so good and coperative.The subjects are fully covered by them and they also helps students who has any problem regarding the subjects.the subjects for GATE exam of mechanical or electrical are covered in our faculty so that one can give GATE exam either in mechanical or electrical.
