Remarks

On the whole, I would recommend my college to you. Despite being relatively new and not as famous yet as its branch down south, it is rapidly building its reputation and is likely to become renowned throughout the country very soon.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I feel the curriculum is well designed and does get updated regularly and periodically in an attempt to keep up with industrially relevant technologies. As the semester progress, there are a host of electives to choose from among exciting new fields of technology like AI, ML, NLP, Cloud Computing, etc. However, there are too many courses per semester, 5-6 on average, to leave time to pursue other interests as well. There also needs to be more focus on practical work as compared to theoretical knowledge.

Internships Opportunities

Our college started providing internships through a couple of companies in the year after I graduated, so I'm not aware of the experience and stipend gave. As such, the companies which come to recruit students for internships are reputed companies, with plush offices in Hyderabad and inspiring colleagues.

Placement Experience

4

The placement opportunities at MUJ depend mostly on the branch you are pursuing. Even within BTech, Computer Science students achieve nearly 100% placements with decent packages. Electronics also have decent placements, but the same cannot be said for branches such as Civil, Chemical, and automobile engineering. For students pursuing courses apart from engineering, placement opportunities are difficult to come by.

College Events

4.5

Our college has a vibrant extra-curricular life throughout the year, including a cultural festival, multiple technical festivals, a sports festival, an Entrepreneurship conclave, a Ted event, festivals of individual societies/clubs, and many more being added every year. A number of colleges from across the country participate in these events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since it is a private college, the fee is not cheap; upwards of 4 lakh rupees per year, but it is worth it for the infrastructure provided. The fee in almost every private college in our country is similar, but with fewer facilities usually.

Fees and Financial Aid

I do not have any knowledge about any fee grant as I did not avail any and don't know of anybody who did. I have heard there is a GPA-based loan provided but I am not sure of the amount as well as the minimum GPA requirement for it.

Campus Life

4.5

When it comes to clubs and societies, we have them for non-technical fields such as literature, public speaking, art, dance, dramatics, film-making, and philosophy, as well as technical fields like robotics, car design, general computing, and drones to name a few. All the societies and clubs are active throughout the year and keep many a student engaged in a holistic manner. Students from the clubs participate in different Intra and inter-college events too, representing and winning the university many laurels. We also have college teams for many sports including football, cricket, tennis, table tennis, badminton, basketball as well as track and field events like athletics and gymnastics.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel and campus are probably the best ones can get in India presently, especially when it comes to engineering colleges. All hostel rooms and classrooms are air-conditioned, including cold and warm AC. There are also ample eating joints on campus, as well as a couple of grocery stores.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is not as strong as some older colleges since my college is relatively new, by it is growing fast and becoming more robust every year. Both seniors and alumni are very helpful in reaching out to. There is no culture of ragging/bullying, and seniors are always there to help you wherever you may need it.

Exam Structure

There are 3 sets of exams per semester: 2 sets of sessionals and 1 set of end-semester exams per subject. The sessionals take place every alternate month and the final end semester exams take place in the last month of the semester. Sessionals are either 15 or 20 marks, and finals are out of 100. Some exams are open book examinations, while others are closed books.

Admission

I got admission through the national test MUOET(Manipal University Online Entrance Test) which is conducted every year for admission to the different colleges under the Manipal umbrella. It was conducted in different dates in May and there is an option to give it thrice in the approximately month-log window. I gave it once and secured a rank of 13,816, as I did not know at the time that it can be given thrice in the window.

Faculty

4

While I do feel there is scope for improvement in the faculty, the college does try to get more as well as train existing faculty in progressive teaching methodologies and subject area knowledge. As is the case with most colleges, there are good and bad teachers both here too, it mostly depends on how much you make of your time in college.

The course is well structured and designed for students to learn the subject in detail and to know about topics in detail and make sure to understand things clearly before implementing them in real life. There are certain areas for improvement but they will keep get better. Timetable should be made such that students get break in between the classes so that they can be less exhausted throughout the day

Obviously there is a campussing process that gives the students the opportunity to get their desired job. You can also go off campus to get bigger opportunity, but it will be on your head only that means it's a risk. But the average placement provided by the university is 6 lakhs and the highest one is 72 lakhs per annum.
