Remarks
The college overall is real good provide that you will surely get a job opportunity from this college but living here is real difficult due to the excessive heat and not do good food and also inhospitable people who hardly understand Hindi or English.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was of a typical engineering college. The exam structure was a bit hectic with tests in every month and semester exams once in half a year. The faculties are not that good so it's real difficult to score good marks.
Placement Experience
The placement provided by the college is real good with nearly 100% placements for the students who don't get any arrears in the entire tenure of the course. There is no such provision for internship as such provided by the college yet though if you get placed in any company after completion of your course then some companies offer a 6 month internship offer and the stipend varies from 10k -25k
College Events
There are many events which take place in the college throughout the year, the major ones being Aarush, which takes place in August and Milan, which takes places in the month of March. There is also an event for the freshers held every year in the month of October named as Shuru and a dance and art event held in April named as Jhalak. There are other small departmental events also which are conducted by individual departments throughout the year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's a bit expensive than the government colleges but when you come to the slab of private universities the fee structure is feasible. Back in 2015 the fee for my degree was 200000 per year which remained constant for the entire 4 years, so I paid 800000 in total for the tuition fees.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides a scholarship ranging between 25-100% to students who secure a rank below 1000 in the SRMJEE test conducted by the college. Also if you score good marks in the semester exams some extra scholarship is also provided to you. The college comes in the A grade college so getting a loan from any bank is real easy.
Campus Life
There are many clubs for each of the activities you can name ranging from robotics to drama and all of them take part in some national and international levels. In the past many of these teams have won laurels for the college by taking part in multiple competitions and the funds for all of these teams are given by the college.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel infrastructure is real good and remains clean but the taste of the food provided in mess is very bad. The college is in Southern part of India so the people are also not very welcoming to people coming from Northern part of India, and since I belong to a state in the northern part of India I had to face some issues there.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes the college has a large alumni network with majority of them working out of india, so contacting them is really helpful as you get help from them in technical doubts or personal doubts as well. It's still a growing college and being a part of it's alumni network is really good.
Admission
First you need to register for entrance exam named SRMJEE and then give the exam which was in online as well as office mode back when I gave it in 2015. Based on how much one scores in the entrance exam admission is given in different branches of SRM IST.
Faculty
There faculty of the college are not that good, I mean they're of an average rating. Some of them are real good who give more focus on research rather than theory but on the other hand there are some who hardly have any knowledge of the subject they're teaching and for them you will have to just mug up things to pass in the particular subjects.
