Remarks

There are equally some positive and negative things about SVVV. Starting with the positive things, the academics, infrastructure, student-faculty interaction are some of the best qualities this college has. On the negative side, the college is located a little on the outside of the city, which sometimes proves to be expensive for some students in terms of transportation. Overall the college is really good and i would highly recommend this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Since 2016, Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidhyalaya is now an autonomous university, i.e., it does not follow RGPV course curriculum and has a totally different exam structure and course curriculum. However, the students of batch prior 2016 still are a part of RGPV course curriculum and follow rgpv rules and regulations. The new course curriculum of the autonomous SVVV university has been, in my opinion, a boon for new students, as they are now studying according to the university curriculum which has been proven beneficial for us, as students. The increased level of discipline, hardwork, and innovation can be seen in the students which is all because of the course curriculum of SVVV. The Exam structure, however, is not so good because students don't get enough time for co curricular activities and internships after the exams are over. The semester breaks are usually of short spans in comparison to other colleges are the exams in SVVV are usually conducted late. In total, a semester lasts upto roughly 5-6 months. The exam structure of SVVV, in my opinion, needs to be restructured for the convenience of students.

Placement Experience

3.5

Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidhyalaya offers great placements compared to other colleges in Indore. There is a bit of competition in the Computer Science Branch as there are lots of students pursuing CS from SVVV. The mass recruiter for CS branch students is TCS. In the year 2018, almost 120 students were placed from computer science branch with an average package of 3.14 lakh. The college provides 100% placement for textile engineering students which is a very good thing for them. This gives a headstart to the career of a student. When we talk about internships, the university doesn't provide any internship on its own, but conducts various campaignes and programmes in which companies come to college and give students a chance to work as an intern in their company. The only negative point is that the the university must give long semester breaks to students so that they can do internships and other courses to improve their CVs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is highly feasible for any student(studying in Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidhyalaya) who belongs to a middle class family as all the courses which are taught at SVVV are not at all expensive. In other words we can say that by comparing the cost of studying at SVVV and the placement which students get, the Return on Investment is pretty impressive. On top of that, SVVV provides various scholarships. In conclusion, the fees is pretty much feasible for any student who studies in SVVV.

Fees and Financial Aid

All the scholarships announced by the government under specific conditions are applicable in SVVV and are given to the students who qualify those conditions. The college gives scholarships to those students who secure a cgpa of 7.5 or above in a particular semester (scholarship varies as cgpa increases). The other type of scholarship which the university provides is through the government schemes, i.e., those students securing more than 85% in 12th board examination get 25000 inr ( again it varies from the marks a student scores) from the govt. and this amount is deducted from the college fees. Another privilege is provided to the SC, ST and OBCs sector students and they also get some scholarship based on their 12th board marks.

Campus Life

4

After transforming into an autonomous university, SVVV has also paid a great deal of attention to the infrastructure which covers sports equipments, courts and grounds for students, high tech labs, libraries, etc. Till now, i can say that the platform for extra curricular activities is average for students in SVVV. But hopefully, after the construction and renovation of new buildings, sports room and libraries in the college campus is done, students will have a chance to bring out the best in the them and can study and enjoy in this academic environment.

Alumni/Alumna

The era of ragging, bullying by senior students is thankfully long gone and nowadays a very friendly environment is maintained between junior and senior students. The senior students are helpful to juniors in every form, it may be career guidance, playing together in any sports tournament, etc. And the juniors maintain an equal amount of respect towards the seniors. The interaction between seniors and juniors creates and maintains a healthy and friendly environment in the university. The alumni of the university are not at all forgotten. They are invited to several programs organised by the college and they give lectures and guide new students to the right direction and guide them on how to choose their career based on their skills and equally guide them to avoid the wrong steps they took(if any) during their college days. The friendly and healthy interaction between seniors and juniors will alone attract you to come to this college.

Admission

The admission process in Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidhyalaya is categorized into three types; merit based, university entrance exam and JEE score based. Through merit list, the students who score above 85% in their 12th board examination are eligible to apply for any course in the university. It is then the decision of the college board whether to give admission to the particular student or not. The college entrance exam, SVET(Shri Vaishnav Entrance Test) gives the students a chance to apply in the college by giving entrance exam of the university by selecting the degree which the student wants to pursue. The last admission process is through the JEE score which a student scores after their 12th pcm examination. The JEE score is, however given the topmost priority in the admission of a process, but it is the choice of the students by which means they want admission in college.

Faculty

4.5

As a Computer Science student, I must say the faculty have always been very helpful for students in every aspect. Not only for college studies, but also for career counseling. The best career guidance can be given only by a teacher, and students are blessed to have those teachers in SVVV. I haven't seen a single faculty in SVVV who is underqualified and isn't an expert in his/her field. The teachers are quite friendly with students but are equally righteous and just when it comes to giving marks to students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i would rate the curriculum around 5 or 6 out of 10. i chose this course mainly because of the computer and coding subjects. the syllabus is mostly theory based and many topics are not very useful for current industry needs. practical classes and real projects are also limited. more coding, projects and updated technologies should be added. exams are frequent during the semester and the difficulty is mostly average but sometimes checking feels strict.
