Remarks

Considering the campus is just 3 years old, it has put in a lot of effort in a short span of time and we're having quite a good infrastructure now where already we have two academic blocks, 3 boys hostel, 1 girls hostel, several college buses, and the most important thing is everything is well organized here. The exams are open book for some subjects makes it really interesting. When we joined it was just a 2-floor campus and now we have almost a full-fledged campus and that's quite commendable. Our college's main motto is the overall development of the student and I feel this is really happening.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Our curriculum is quite good, versatile in nature and it has a very unique system that is you get to choose your own subs for a given semester, like for example you can study a 4th year subject in 2nd year if you're done with its pre-requisite and although I'm specializing in embedded systems, we're made to study subjects from VLSI and core domain as well as elective. The curriculum also has management, humanities, and science subjects combined and it's dedicated to the overall development of the student. As far as the exams are concerned many courses have open book exams which are very unique in nature and these papers only have application-based questions and higher-order thinking skills questions. There are 3 exams each semester, all are 50 marks and in the last exam, the full syllabus is there. Lab exam happens separately which is responsible for 25% of the Marks while the rest of the 75% is on the theory part. 50% is the overall pass mark where 40% is the pass mark for theory exams.

Placement Experience

4.5

First of all, this is a 3-year-old campus while the parent campus is VIT Vellore, the first placement of the college is scheduled in 2020 and it's promised that the placements will be centralized with VIT Vellore and the companies are the same. This year nearly 714 companies turned up with around 4000+ offers with the highest stipend being 39L from Microsoft. The main companies are Microsoft, Deshaw, Qualcomm, Bosch, nxp semiconductor, Amazon, etc.

College Events

5

There are mainly two fests in the college. The first one is cultural fest which is named as vitopia and the next one is VTapp which is a technical fest. The cultural fest consists of dance, bands, songs, games, and much more with participants from more than 50 colleges and the same for the technical fest where the events are mainly technically based starting from various workshops, training to technical competitions. Besides this, there are nearly 30 clubs in college and every weekend there are some events organized by one club or the other.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure depends upon your rank. It ranges from 1,62,000 to 4,95,000 per year. If your rank is quite good you get into the first category and the fees will be 1,62,000 but if your rank isn't good then you have to opt for categories below the desired one and the more you go, the more fees you pay.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are a lot of scholarships provided. The AP board toppers study and stay for free with a laptop being provided to everyone. Besides that, every year merit scholarships are given to the top rankers from different streams. There's an Indian Bank inside and you can apply for an education loan there, in the admission letter it's advised to the banks to sanction loans, so getting an education loan won't be much of an issue.

Campus Life

3.5

The extracurricular activities include cricket, football, basketball, tennis,table-tennis, chess, etc. Every sport except cricket and football is available for girls as well. We have inter stream competitions both for boys and girls and we have good prizes, medals, and trophies for that. The clubs/cultural societies organize a lot of technical/nontechnical events throughout the year open to everyone to participate. There's no discrimination done on the basis of race, religion, or gender in our college or by anyone in our college, and in these three years, there's no report of intolerance as well.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostels are quite good as they're all new for it's a new campus. There's a mess facility as well where veg, nonveg and special food is prepared. The hostel consists of 2 - bedded and 4 -bedded ac and non AC rooms. The fees for 2-bed ac is around 98,000 which is the highest and lowest being the 4-bed non AC at around 50,000, 2-bed non AC is around 60000 and 4bed ac is around 88,000. Besides this, there are apartment-type rooms where you get microwave and refrigerator but the fees is quite high at 1,40,000 per year if you're opting for 2-bedded rooms apartment and little less if it's 4-bedded. The mess charges are 50,000 for veg, 58,500 for non-veg, and 66,000 for a special per year.

Alumni/Alumna

We don't have an alumni network as of now as were the first batch but yes VIT Vellore and Chennai has a lot of alumni network inside and outside the country and then visit us at regular intervals in the form of seminars and the interactions are quite fruitful for us to know more about the college, placements, etc.

Admission

VIT has its own entrance exam known as VITEEE where you need to register yourself and appear for an exam of 120 marks and then you're given rank according to that exam and called for central counseling where you get seats for all the 4 campuses of VIT, including the Amravati campus.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties are quite good and qualified as well. Most of the faculties are having doctorates and few of them are having masters but that doesn't affect their teaching, everyone is quite dedicated to teaching a particular course.

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
